Summary

APokemonfan recently designed two regional variants for Slowbro. Regional variants first appeared in the seventh generation ofPokemongames, set in Alola, inspiring fans to create their own takes on the concept.

Originallyintroduced inPokemon’s Gen 1, Slowbro is a Water/Psychic-type Pokemon. It evolves from Slowpoke starting at Level 37 and can become Mega Slowbro in some games. InPokemon Sword and Shield, Slowbro gained an official regional variant, a Poison/Psychic-type version with the Shellder biting its arm instead of tail, as well as some purple marks on its body.

Now, aPokemonfan called FallinDevast shared two regional variants for Slowbro: the Water/Fairy-type Slowmoe and its evolution, the Flying/Fairy-type Showbro. These are pretty interesting designs, with Slowmoe being a slightly different Slowpoke that decided to adorn its chest with a discarded Clamvoy shell. The Showbro, on the other hand, maintains a similar design but uses the shell as powerful wings. Each creature comes with its unique lore, with Slowmoe being “adored by many female trainers and often starring in viral social media clips,” and Showbro having an innate talent for shows. Both Pokemon also received a shiny version, in which Slowmoe becomes blue and Showbro turns purple instead of pink.

Pokemon Fan Art Imagines Regional Variants for Slowbro

Last year, another fan also drew an interesting fan-made creature inspired by the popular Water/Psychic-type Pokemon. Basically, onefan fused Slowbro and Slowking into a future Paradoxform called Iron Sloth. This Psychic/Dark-type monster still had mostly pink colors and resembled the original creatures, but had shells attached to both its tail and head, as well as several black details over its body.

Regional variants are among the most popular trends inPokemonfan art. Earlier this week, another fan designedregional variants for Porygon and Porygon2, for example, turning these critters into Ground/Psychic-type beasts. In these new designs, the creatures were remade inspired by Egyptian rulers and gained brown colors and characteristic Pharaoh crowns, acting as the guards of ancient tombs in a desertic region.

In another amazing example of fan art following this popular trend, afan drew a regional variant for Magikarp. In this alternative form, Magikarp became an amphibian creature that still looked like a fish, but could crawl slowly in swampy regions. The Pokemon mostly still looked like a carp, but it had different colors and a heavier, bigger body, that made it tired all the time.
