Summary
A skilledPokemonfan artist has recently created an incredible Fire/Poison-type variant for Qwilfish.Pokemonfan art can be done using several concepts, and coming up with alternative types is one of the most simple, elegant, and popular ways to do it, and this artwork shows why.
Originally introduced inthe second generation ofPokemongames, Qwilfish is a Water/Poison-type creature that resembles a blowfish. Initially, Qwilfish could only be fished from a few spots while using a Super Rod, but later games continued to feature this critter, increasing its popularity with players. InPokemon Legends: Arceus, the monster received a Dark/Poison-type regional variant, which also had a unique evolution, Overqwil, which can be obtained by evolving Qwilfish while having the Barb Barrage move.
Now, a prolificPokemonfan called Matratzfratz has designed a new Fire/Poison-type version of Qwilfish, reimagining the blowfish-inspired creature as a sun. In this new design, the artist changed Qwilfish’s colors to yellow and tweaked the fish’s spikes to look more curved, as well as removed its tail, so it no longer looks like a fish. The artwork also comes with a shiny version of the alternative Qwilfish, which is grey. Unfortunately, the artist did not reveal more details about this creation, such as the places where it can be found.
Amazing Pokemon Fan Art Depicts Fire/Poison-type Variant for Qwilfish
This incredible Qwilfish fan art is not the first time that Matratzfratz redesigned a popular Pokemon. Last month, for example, the artist created aMega Evolution for Electrode. In this artwork, the fan gave the spheric Pokemon a makeover by redrawing it inspired by a Master Ball, which stands out due to the two small angry faces it has on each of its sides.
In another recent artwork, Matratzfratz designed aMega Evolution for Forretress. In the amazing design, the creature doubles down on the idea of becoming a fortress. According to the creator, they were inspired by the real-world Spanish castle of Castillo Nuevo de Manzanares el Real when designing the piece.
Other artists have also come up with interesting fan artwork about other Gen 2 creatures. For example, a fan has createdan impressive evolution animation for Cyndaquil. In the short video, it’s possible to see Cyndaquil flipping in the air and then becoming Quilava, followed by a transformation into its final form, Typhlosion. Hopefully, other creativePokemonfans will continue to devise a huge variety of works, amazing their fellow fans with their love for the franchise.
