Summary

APokemonfan has created an incredible animation highlighting Cyndaquil and each of its evolutions. Cyndaquil isPokemonGen 2’s Fire-type starter, and this fan animation uniquely commemorates it.

SincePokemon Gold and Silverwere released, Gen 2 has become a fan-favorite generation largely thanks to it featuring two full regions. WhilePokemon Red and Blueare set in the Kanto region,Pokemon Gold and Silverallow players to return to Kanto three years after the events of Gen 1. Beyond featuring the Kanto Pokemon and region, Gen 2 is also widely recognized for its unique additions to the Pokedex. Some Gen 2 Pokemon that became popular party choices are Ampharos, Smeargle, Shuckle, and Tyranitar. One gamer has decided to commemorate their enthusiasm for Cyndaquil by making an incredible animation of its evolution.

Reddit user Moreirasart recently shared a clip of theirPokemonanimation detailing their version of how Cyndaquil evolves. The clip begins with thePokemonGen 2starter sitting on the ground with yellow and orange flames protruding from its back. After getting to its feet, the Cyndaquil flips in the air, becoming the much taller Quilava which separates its back inferno into a fiery tail and hair. Quilava remains stationary as it looks upward then flexes into the final evolution, Typhlosion, which lets out a big roar upon completion. This final evolution is a more seamless transition than the one showing Cyndaquil becoming Quilava but it resembles an anime hero likeDragon Ball Z’s Goku orOne Piece’s Luffy.

This Pokemon Animation Shows Cyndaquil Evolving

OncePokemon Gold and Silverplayers choose Cyndaquil as their starter Pokemon, their rival chooses the Gen 2 Water-type starter, Totodile. Both Pokemon become formidable battle opponents by the time they reach their final evolution, with Typhlosion having slightly higher base stats than Feraligatr. Cyndaquil has reached a broader audience by being featured asone of thePokemon Legends: Arceusstarter Pokemonalongside Oshawott and Rowlet. InPokemon Gold and Silver, Cyndaquil will evolve into Quilava at level 14, with Quilava evolving into Typhlosion at level 36. This is changed inPokemon Legends: Arceus, where Cyndaquil evolves into Quilava at level 17, with the Typhlosion evolution level remaining 36.

AsPokemonGen 2 has become a focus of many fan art projects, Moreirasart may continue working on animations beyond the Cyndaquil evolutions. WithGame Freak continuing thePokemonseries, future Pokemon may become as popular in the community as the Gen 2 Fire-type starter.
