Summary

A talentedPokemonfan has recently devised an amazing regional variant for Magikarp. ThePokemoncommunity is often excited when artists showcase their love for the franchise with unique artwork online, and this incredible piece stood out due to the creativity of its designer.

Magikarp is a popular Water-type creature that was introduced inthe first generation ofPokemongames. When compared to other fish Pokemon, Magikarp stands out due to it being a hilarious monster that can only attack with Splash, a completely useless move, up to Level 15. Only then can the Pokemon learn how to defend itself by unlocking the Tackle move. Those who are patient enough to evolve their Magikarps finally get access to the powerful Gyarados from Level 20 onward.

Now, aPokemonfan artist called qobrosii shared their latest artwork: a regional variant for Magikarp. The new design still resembles a carp, but it has brown colors and a green fin, as well as a chubbier body. Unfortunately, the fan did not specify the new type of the creature, but it could easily be a Water/Ground-type monster. In the comments of the post, the creator explained that this variant generally lives in swampy areas and can crawl on land, but it typically is tired all the time due to its heavy weight. The design was really liked by thePokemoncommunity, which gave it over 1,900 upvotes and several compliments.

Magikarp Regional Variant Pokemon Fan Art

This is not the only regional variant shared by qobrosii recently. Last week, for example, the artist sharedan amazing regional variant of Hoothoot. In this unique form, the owl-inspired critter lived in cold places and had more feathers than its original counterpart, as well as white plumes.

Qobrosii’s design is not the only artwork made by a fan recently depicting the popular Magikarp. Last week, a tech-savvyfan shared an incredible pet Magikarp hologram, amazing the community with the ingenuity of their creation. In a short video shared by the fan, it was possible to see the image of a Magikarp “swimming” inside a fish bowl in real time, which looked impressive.

A few months ago, yet another fan devisedGhost-type variants for Magikarp and Gyarados. In this design, the two monsters were depicted as huge creatures made solely of bones. Hopefully, otherPokemonfans will keep reimagining exciting variants of the beloved Magikarp, sharing the result of their creativity with other fans of the hilarious fish Pokemon.
