Summary
Lucasfilm Games and Respawn Entertainment have revealed that the thirdStar Wars Jedigame will be the final chapter for Cal Kestis. Beginning withStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderand continuing inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, Cal’s story has quickly become a fan-favorite thanks to Cameron Monaghan’s stellar acting, giving fans the point of view of a different kind of Jedi.
Cal Kestis is not only an interesting protagonist, but his journey has also taken fans across the galaxy to visit newStar Warsplanets as well as some familiar ones. With the third game being the series' finale, it would be an opportune time to bring in planets from the franchise’s past films and series, allowing players to explore them up close and personal as a Jedi.
8Nar Shaddaa
The Darker And Grittier Sister Of Coruscant
Coruscant was featured inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, but only briefly, with little-to-no opportunity to explore. This can be made up for by introducingNar Shaddaa, which was referenced in both previous games. It is similar to Coruscant, being a planet-wide city, but it is far more infested with scum and villainy, since it is located within the Nal Hutta system.
The grittier city landscape could feature Imperials, intergalactic crime syndicates, and bounty hunters for Cal to fight, including possible members of the Hutt family other than Jabba. Depending on the time in which the newStar WarsJedigame takes place, a criminal underworld like this could surprise fans by featuring a surprise appearance from Kay Vess fromStar Wars Outlaws, although the game timelines don’t match up perfectly at the moment.
7Christophsis
The First Planet Seen In The Clone Wars
So much of the lore featured in theStar Wars Jedigames started in animated shows likeStar Wars RebelsandStar Wars: The Clone Wars. To cap off the trilogy, it can honorThe Clone Warsby returning to the planet where it all began; the crystalline world ofChristophsis.
With mountains, landscapes, and cities made entirely out of crystal, Christophsis would provide a video game visual that no otherStar Warsgame has tackled before, eventhe unique planets made just for games. Fans would be able to see how the planet flourished or declined because of the war, and what kind of fauna is found on a planet made of pure crystal.
6Yavin 4
Cal Could Explore The Rebel Base And More
Considering how much damage Cal Kestis has done to the Empiresince debuting in the games, it seems unlikely that the Rebel Alliance never noticed him. Especially when Cal works with Saw Gerrera in both games. If there is another large time jump, Cal could meet iconic characters such as Mon Mothma, Hera Syndulla, Cassian Andor, and others.
Yavin 4is the famous base for the Rebel Alliance inA New Hope,Star Wars Rebels, andRogue One, which is almost exclusively shown from the rebel base. Having it inStar Wars Jediwould allow fans to explore and expand upon the planet, maybe uncovering Jedi secrets that have never been seen before.
5Endor
The Forests And Oceans Where The Empire Ended
The sequel trilogy brought the heroes back to the moon ofEndorto explore the remnants of the second Death Star as an important part of Sith and Jedi lore. Perhaps if the thirdStar Wars Jedigame takes place post-Return Of The Jedi, there could be other mysteries and elements aboard the destroyed station for Cal to discover.
Perhaps Cal’s story will find a way to connect to the movies and the Disney+ shows that take place in a similar era. This not only sets up the potential for Cameron Monaghan to appear in live-action, but could also show even more of the famous planet where the Empire originally came to an end, something Cal would likely cherish.
4Mortis
A Place To Uncover Mysteries Of The Force
In his pursuit of the means to either fight or flee the Empire, Cal has uncovered many secrets of the Jedi. That could continue in the third game, allowing him to exploreMortis, a certain hidden planet from one of thebest arcs ofStar Wars: The Clone Wars. This was the planet where Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka Tano encountered the three Force gods.
Since the Mortis gods died by the end of the arc, Cal could be given the chance to learn the Father, Son, and Daughter’s histories through the Metroidvania-like gameplay that theStar Wars Jedigames are known for. On top of that, the planet’s biomes would rapidly age, change weather patterns, and alter within minutes, and that could be used in puzzles for players to solve.
3Mustafar
Cal Can Take The Fight To Darth Vader’s Home
Twice now, Darth Vader has played a part in Cal’s adventures in bothStar Wars Jedigames. It’s unlike Darth Vader to simply let his prey go and, after all the fighting against the Empire that Cal has done, the Sith Lord will likely make Cal his next target. However, Darth Vader was, sadly, the one to kill Cal’s master, Cere Junda, so perhaps Cal will want to take the fight to Vader instead.
This could all lead to Cal discovering Darth Vader’s fortress onMustafar, the very place where Anakin Skywalker burned and was reborn as the Sith lord. On top of being able to explore Darth Vader’s castle, the lava-ridden planet would test Cal’s physical prowess and his strength to resist the Dark Side.
2Bespin
The Cloud City Remains A Beloved And Scenic Location
Cal often finds himself accidentally encountering famousStar Warscharacters from the past. Depending on when the thirdStar Wars Jedigame takes place, Cal could find himself onBespintomeet the famous Lando Calrissianbefore or after becoming administrator of Cloud City. Cal could even play a part in Lando going from scoundrel to a leader.
Cloud City was a stand-out level inStar Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcastand theBattlefrontseries, but fans have never had a chance to explore it in much detail. InThe Empire Strikes Back, fans were only given a small glimpse of the city, but the diverse locations, combined with potential new ones, would allow for plenty of traversal and exploration opportunities.
1Naboo
One Of The Most Important Locations For Prequel Fans
Fans of theStar Warsprequel era will recognizeNaboo, the serene home planet of Padmé Amidala, Emperor Palpatine, and Jar Jar Binks. It features lush green fields, swamps, the Gungan City, and the ornate city of Theed, all of which have appearedin otherStar Warsgamesof the past, including theBattlefrontseries.
Theed, with its many citizens, would be an ideal location for Cal to explore and obtain new side quests, and the same can be said for the Gungan City. Where a lot of planets are grungy and filthy, Naboo is always beautiful to behold. As a bonus, it would allow Cal to learn more about Darth Vader, and possibly his identity, using his ability to see Force Echoes by visiting the grave of Padme.
