This particular collaboration is set to run from September 17 to 30 and comes with a huge number of cosmetic unlocks. While a lot of attention is being placed on the premium Legendary skins that the event has introduced, there are still some exciting rewards that all players can work towards while the event is active.
Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft’s Collaboration Marks a Special Occasion
TheWorld of Warcraftcollaboration withOverwatch 2has been introduced to mark the 20th anniversary of the iconic MMO franchise, with Blizzard merging their two largest IPs for this impressive milestone. While the collaboration has not brought much in the way of gameplay shake-ups, a wide range of new Legendary skins stand as the main allure of theWoWcrossover.
The collaboration has introduced theSylvanas Windrunner skin for Widowmaker, which takes serious inspiration fromWoW’s bow-wielding Banshee Queen. A Lich King skin for Reinhardt has also been introduced, giving the tank an icy new look as well as the Lich King’s iconic Frostmourne sword. The support hero Zenyatta has also been given the Thrall legendary skin, with Torbjorn receiving the Diamond Magni skin.
These new Legendary cosmetics all come withWoW-inspired Play of the Game cinematics, as well as a range of fun emotes that mimic the quest-giver NPCs of the longstanding MMO. While these aspects of theWorld of Warcraftcollaboration are only available through in-game purchases,Blizzard has thankfully also introduced a variety of rewardsthat players can freely work towards while the event is active.
