October 4 marks the two-year anniversary ofOverwatch 2. Over the course of the last year,Overwatch 2has had several limited-time PvP and PvE game modes available as a part of its seasonal content.
Now, it seemsOverwatch 2players will soon have another chance to give these game modes a try. In a recent blog post,Overwatch 2gave fans a teaser for its upcoming anniversary event. Starting September 24, and running for a month,Overwatch 2will bring back some of its best game modes from the last year. Each week features a different pair active: week one includes Beast Hunt and Community Crafted, week two is Cosmic Crisis and April Fools 2024, and week three brings back Prop Hunt andOverwatch 2fan-favorite Mirrorwatch.
Beast Hunt, also called Battle of the Beasts in Season 8, features both teams trying to take down a boss monster version of Orisa. Community Crafted and April Fools both feature heroes with tweaked abilities, the former fromOverwatch 2content creators, and the latter from joke patch notes from the developers. Cosmic Crisis is an eldritch PvE escape mission from Season 9, while Prop Hunt is the returning hide-and-seek minigameOverwatch 2has iterated on since Season 5. Lastly, Season 10’s Mirrorwatch pits alternative universe versions of iconicOverwatch 2heroes and villains against each other, each with reimagined abilities and kits.
The blog also makes mention of rewards that players can earn throughout the event, though exactly what they are is not known yet. If it is anything like last year, fans can expect the chance to earn cosmetics, Battle Pass experience, and possibly even Overwatch Credits by completing in-game tasks and playing the returning game modes.Overwatch 2hasn’t said anything about the Anniversary Store returning, but players might want to save their Overwatch Credits just in case.
TheOverwatch 2xWorld of Warcraftevent is also active nowthrough the end of the month, giving players the chance to earn sprays, name cards, titles, and experience by completing in-game challenges. Season 13 is also slated to begin on October 15, which is either the end of the anniversary event or the final week of it. Either way, it seems like the next month will have plenty of things forOverwatch 2fans to enjoy.
