While the focus ofFunko Fusionis on the massive IPs it is letting players mess around with, those are not the only things joining in on the crossover fun. Alongside the likes ofBack to the FutureandThe Walking Dead, players can also check out some real-world mascots. Of course, Freddy Funko gets to join in on the fun. But, alongside him comes the iconic mascot of KFC’s Colonel Sanders, whose inclusion should lead to even more mascot mayhem withinFunko Fusion.

Many may not expect to see KFC’s Colonel Sanders playing a major role inFunko Fusion, but each world is filled with references to the chef, including a whole collectible devoted to him. Additionally, players can even earn more outfits for him via a KFC app promotion, making him the perfect reward for anyone looking to dine on some chicken as they fight back against Eddy’s shenanigans. Although future DLC may be focused on exploring new franchises, Colonel Sanders should not bethe onlyFunko Fusioncharacter like this.

Funko Fusion Has So Many More Mascots to Play With

10:10 Games Really Needs to Toss These Fan-Favorites Into the Mix

Over the years, Funko has created collectibles for practically every iconic mascot from throughout every industry. Collectors have been able to add Ronald McDonald and his cast of characters, cereal mascots such as Tony the Tiger and Toucan Sam, and it has even sold personified versions of candy bars. All of these have been great for collectors, and now thatFunko Fusionis celebrating the entire brand, they also deserve their time in the gaming space.

There are so many different mascots in this world, but ifFunko Fusionwas going to include more, it would likely be some of the most iconic ones. Of course, that means thatthe likes of McDonald’s Ronald McDonald, Target’s Bullseye, or the Kool-Aid Man feel like the perfect additions. Along with them, players would likely love to play as the adorable Pillsbury Doughboy, the iconic Chester Cheetah, or even Frosted Flakes' Tony the Tiger. If the studio wants to tap into some classic mascots as well, then Tootsie Pop’s Mr. Owl or Toys R' Us' Geoffrey would fit right in.

Funko Fusion Can Be Far More than an IP Playground

Tossing these mascots into the mix wouldmakeFunko Fusionfar more than a crossoverbetween film franchises, but instead, a crossover of popular culture in general. If done well, these characters could be fantastic additions to the roster. Of course, none of them would get entire worlds devoted to them, yet their simple inclusion could really liven up the roster. And if they followed in Colonel Sanders' footsteps, then it could also help the brands in the process.

While players canunlock Colonel Sanders in-game, they cannot unlock his special outfits unless they use the KFC App. They can unlock the Chef Colonel outfit simply by using the app, and once they accrue 250 reward points, they can also get the Mecha Colonel. This approach to alternate outfits is rather controversial, as it incentivizes players to spend money outside the game. However, it also pushes players towards these brands, which is exactly what they want.

As of now, there is no news on what exactlyFunko Fusion’s DLC will entail. IfThe Walking Deadpack is anything to go by, there is a chance more IPs will be introduced via this post-launch content. Although there are probably more franchises fans would want to see, Colonel Sanders should not be the only mascot that gets to have some fun. And as long as their inclusion does not require massive amounts of microtransactions, fans would likely love to see more of Funko’s roster of Ad Icons floating around.
