One PieceEpisode 1120 brought an end to Sabo’s flashback. It started a while ago, and it revealed what exactly went down in Marijoa. Fans were mainly interested in learning about Nefertari Cobra’s murder. The king of Alabasta visited the Holy Land for the Reverie but never made it back alive. The blame for the murder was pinned on Sabo. However, fans knew that Sabo would never commit such an inhumane act.
Thankfully, Sabo was given the opportunity to clear his name to Dragonand the Revolutionary Army. He told Dragon that Cobra was murdered by the Five Elders and another mysterious individual. Sabo even tried to save Cobra, but the enemies were too strong for him. Nefertari Cobra knew that at the current rate, both of them would be killed in the Throne Room. So, he decided to use his remaining time to give Sabo an opportunity to escape. This was a big decision, but one that saved Sabo’s life. Towards the end of Episode 1120, fans saw a new character. This person was none other than Saint. Figarland Garling. His debut meant that fans got to know his voice actor and color scheme.

It’s quite clear that Kazuhiro Yamaji is an experienced voice actor, and he will try his best to elevate Figarland Garling’s character in One Piece. The episode also revealed Figarland Garling’s color scheme, which is also important. When the character debuted in the manga, fans were confident that he could be Shanks' father, as he might have red hair. However, the anime revealed that Figarland Garling has blond hair. This significantly reduces the odds of Shanks and Figarland Garling being related.
How Strong Is Saint Figarland Garling?
Presently, there is very little informationavailable regarding Figarland Garling, making it hard to gauge his true strength accurately. However, there are small clues, which can be used to make an educated guess. The first thing fans should remember is that Figarland Garling was a champion of God Valley. It is the same place where the infamous God Valley Incident took place. Therefore, it is safe to assume that he was on the scene when the incident occurred. Since he was a champion, Figarland Garling likely fought against the Rocks Pirates. A weakling would not have survived the fight. This is the first indicator of his strength.

The second thing to remember is that Figarland Garling is the Supreme Commander of the God’s Knights. The group is in charge of the safety of the residents of Marijoa. Due to this reason, they have higher authority than the Marines. Furthermore, they are likely stronger than most Marines and Cipher Pol agents. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been given the role of protecting the Celestial Dragons. In most cases, the leader of an organization is the strongest member. Using the same rationale, St. Figarland Garling is the most powerful of the God’s Knights. He should be on the same level as an Admiral if not higher. It is currently unknown if Figarland Garling has a Devil Fruit, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he didn’t.
Given that the story is in the Final Saga, Oda will try his best to make the characters powerful, and the easiest way would be to give them a Devil Fruit. Moving on to Figarland Garling’s Haki. There is absolutely zero doubt that he possesses at least two types of Haki, and he mastered their use. It would be impossible for him to become the leader of the God’s Knights without having potent Haki.
Finally, his fighting style seems to involve swords. In one frame, fans could clearly see him with a sword on his waist. The sword’s hilt looked damaged, implying that he was involved in an intense fight that might have taken place in God Valley. As of now, the grade of Figarland Garling’s sword remains unclear. But it is bound to be at least an O-Wazamono grade sword.
What Role Will Figarland Garling Play In One Piece?
He Will Be Crucial In The Final Saga
The fact that Saint. Figarland Garling debuted so late in the series strongly indicates Oda has big plans for him. He wouldn’t introduce a character in the Final Saga, only to sideline him. Hence, fans can expect Saint. Figarland Garling to play an integral role in the story. As he is the leader of the God’s Knights, he might be aware of the true nature of the Five Elders. So, it is possible that fans will see him meet and talk to the Five Elders.
This will give the audience a better idea of what to expect from the Supreme Commander of the God’s Knights. There is also a good chance that he will face the Straw Hats in the future. Many fans believe that the Straw Hats will go to Marijoa at one point to fight the Five Elders. So, Figarland Garling will definitely try to stop them, and that is when he will have to fight the pirates.
