This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Egghead Arc.

Summary

One Piecechapter 1125 dropped recently and there were a lot of exciting plot points for the fans to go over in this week’s chapter. It is safe to say thatEgghead has lived up to all expectationsand far surpassed many others, and it has only gone on to set up even better and more exciting events for the future of the story.

One Piecechapter 1125 was one filled with many shocking deaths, and at the same time, fans saw the series move closer towards its end in a very emphatic manner. As far as the deaths are concerned, fans were treated to two major deaths in this chapter, with one being shown on screen, and the other being simply mentioned. Of course, the latter death was that of Stussy, one of the members of the Cipher Pol who was seemingly killed in action.

Stussy’s CP0 Betrayal Allowed Vegapunk And The Straw Hats To Scheme On Egghead

Sissy arrived on Egghead Island along with Rob Lucci and Kaku. These three came with S-Bear to Egghead, and their goal was to kill Vegapunk at first, under the pretext of delivering the malfunctioning S-Bear back to the scientist. Although they were surrounded by the sea beasts, they utilized the power of S-Bear to infiltrate Egghead, and there, they started the mission of eradicating members of the Vegapunks. However, little did Lucci and Kaku know that Stussywas actually created by Vegapunkas a clone of a former Rocks Pirates member. Given that she was an ally of Vegapunk, he ordered her to act against her comrades, and she certainly did that without any hesitation.

I’m just putting him to sleep. Would you please join in, Lucci? – Stussy

Stussy was able to defeat Rob Lucci, taking him by surprise and using her kairoseki lipstick to immobilize him. Similarly, she was able to do the same with Kaku as well, and both of them were taken out of the early parts of the arc easily by her. Of course, beyond this point, Stussy could simply not continue the facade, and Lucci and Kaku wouldn’t forgive her either. She knew what she had signed up for, but, because it was a direct order to her, it was impossible for her to disobey. Later down the line, fans saw her being conflicted, because deep down, she certainly did care about her comrades as well. She was responsible for freeing Kaku, and the last fans saw her, Kaku warned her about Lucci not going easy on her.

Stussy accepted that fate, andmade a promise to VegapunkEdison to live her life seeking an answer and a reason behind her living as well. It was clearly an emphatic and emotional moment in the chapter, and, from there onwards, fans did not expect to see much of her.

How Stussy Seemingly Died In One Piece

Rob Lucci Confirms Stussy’s Death

One Piecechapter 1125 opened with the Marines and the Cipher Pol taking what remained of their forces back to their respective bases. Of course, it was devastating damage that they suffered here, and the defeat was massive as well. Most importantly, they had to take the Seraphim and the Mark III with them, which were important assets. They were slowly being loaded onto the ships, and the ships were then sailed to their respective bases. While that happened, fans saw Rob Lucci and Kaku arrive on one of the ships as well. Upon being asked about Stussy, Lucci simply replied that she was killed in action. The implication here is that Lucci was the one who killed her.

I killed her! – Rob Lucci

This is simply because Kaku warned Stussy previously about Rob Lucci not forgiving her and likely killing her. Lucci is also known to be a merciless killer, and he did not hesitate at injuring her gravely earlier in the arc. Furthermore, Kaku hid his face and was seemingly tearing up when Lucci said these words. Clearly, Kaku was overcome with emotion for a former comrade, and now, her fate seems to be sealed already and she appears to be dead.

For the CP0, this is a major loss, and that goes without saying. However, this is also a big loss for Vegapunk, given that now, he doesn’t have one of his biggest working assets with him. But, it needn’t be that way. While fans are told that Stussy is dead, it doesn’t necessarily mean that she is gone for good. For one, fans should remember that her death was not shown to them on screen. Usually, Oda kills characters on screen, or, at the very least, even if they are off-screened, the deaths are still heavily implied in the same chapter. This is a very unique case, where Oda showed the character alive and well, and on the next page, declared them essentially dead. There is every reason for the fans to believe that Stussy might not be dead after all, and that she has a bigger thing to tend to.

Is Stussy Truly Dead?

Stussy Will Likely Be Revealed As Alive Later In One Piece

The question of whether Stussy is dead or not is quite an interesting one. Oda could take the easy route here and essentially confirm that she’s dead forever, or, he is going to take the clever out here, and that is to confirm that Stussy is actually alive. In fact, it makes more sense for her to be alive than dead. Of course, Rob Lucci would most likely not forgive her, but there are two characters there, and Kaku is one of them. Stussy was the one who saved Kaku from certain death, and there is absolutely no way that he wouldn’t make a case for her against Lucci. At the same time, fans also know that Stussy considered them to be her comrades, and, deep down, she did show care for them, which is why she freedKaku in the first place. It was not easy for her to betray her own comrades, but she did.

At the same time, she was also givena very important order by Vegapunk, and that was to keep on living and find a meaning behind her life. Stussy accepted the order with a tearful face, and fans know that this plot point can’t simply be wasted. Fans can rest assured that despite the words of Rob Lucci, Stussy is actually alive.

As to where she is, fans do not know. It is likely that Lucci did Stussy a favor and allowed her to escape and seek out meaning in her life. Stussy will most likely show up at some point later down the line, and it will be extremely interesting to see how she becomes relevant in the story once again, and what role she plays later down the line in One Piece.
