Spoilers for Disney’s Elemental ahead
Dreamlight Valleyis a sandbox life simulation adventure game where players can live out their lives in the magical titular valley filled with iconic Disney/Pixar characters and locations. They can interact with villagers by having daily discussions, giving them gifts, completing their quests, and engaging in activities like fishing, mining, gardening, and harvesting.Disney Dreamlight Valleylaunched with a wide selection of fan-favorite characters like Mickey, Goofy, Remy, Ursula, Elsa, and Woody.
But one of the best things aboutDreamlight Valleyis the constant stream of new content. Since its release, the game has expanded to include characters like Jafar and Tiana, with even more on the way. However, among the exhaustivelist of Disney films, there’s one that still hasn’t made its way intoDreamlight Valleybut deserves to:Elemental.
The Addition of Elemental Is a No-Brainer for Dreamlight Valley
Elementalhas introduced some of Disney’s most creative characters and concepts to date. The movie takes place in Element City, where fire, earth, water, and air residents live together.Ember (Fire) and Wade (Water)would make for the perfect new additions toDreamlight Valley. The game could build on their relationship from where the movie left off. At the end ofElemental, Ember left her family for a glass-designing internship.Dreamlight Valleycould introduce Ember and Wade living together, maybe operating a glass shop.
Introducing Wade could lead to some exciting quests too, like Ursula capturing Ember and trapping her in a water bubble, and Wade having to save her before time runs out, similar to the underwater Vivisteria Flower scene from the film. Moreover,Elemental-inspired clothingand furniture are already available in-game. The Blue Flame from the movie appears in the game as the “Circular Embossed Metal Fireplace” that players can add to their homes. There are also hairstyles like the Blazing Pixie, Blooming Bob, and Pompadour in the Cloud, all inspired by the movie’s elemental themes. So, it only makes sense thatDreamlight Valleyshould take the next step and add the characters fromElementaltoo.
What Makes Elemental Stand Out from Other Disney Films
At its core,Elementalwas a romantic comedy about two people from very different worlds coming together and falling in love. But what truly set the movie apart from other Disney releases was its setting.Pixar created an entirely new worldforElemental, based on the four elements, with each town in Element City specifically designed to meet the needs of its residents. Firetown featured homes made of metal, wood, and brick, equipped with chimneys to suit fire residents. Meanwhile, the Water District felt like a metropolis, with translucent, reflective structures, and glass buildings. Similarly, Earthville and Airville had their own distinct features. This juxtaposition of different cultures and elements coexisting is what madeElemental’s world so fun to explore.
Dreamlight Valley Must Introduce an Entire Elemental Realm and Not Just the Characters
Realms are unlockable areas that let players visit their favorite locations from various Disney films. For example, there’s the Ratatouille Realm, set in Remy’s kitchen, theDreamlight ValleyToy Story Realmin Bonnie’s toy-filled bedroom, and the Wall-E Realm which is a dystopian wasteland. Since the concept of Element City is what madeElementalso special, simply adding the characters to the Valley without a Realm to explore would be a major letdown.
Players should be able to explore all four elemental towns and interact with their residents. They could hop on the Wetro train from the movie, munch on some kol-nuts at Ember’s restaurant, try their hand at glass designing, or visit the dreamy Vivisteria Flower. Theworld ofElementalis brimming with creative possibilities that feel tailor-made for a sandbox game likeDreamlight Valley.
