WithMinecrafthaving been on the market for over a decade now, players have seen their fair share of strange bugs appear in the game. Ranging from small visual glitches to game-breaking issues, bugs within the popular title can appear in a multitude of different forms, sometimes even turning aMinecraftplayer’s world into a bright pinkBarbieland. Regardless of the way these bugs appear in the game, they are oftentimes found after an update or patch. Despite copious amounts of testing by developers to ensure everything is working as intended, some bugs still manage to sneak their way into the game only to later be discovered by the playerbase.
As shared on Reddit by user hdgdhdhdhdj and several others and also reported on Mojang’s bug tracking website, it appears that water is showing up as pitch-black blocks inMinecraftfor some players. This bug is only impacting those who play the mobile version of the game, and while it seems to have been an issue since August, there has been a huge spike in reports of it following thelatest bigMinecraftBedrock update. Water isn’t the only block type that is experiencing this bug, with other transparent blocks such as glass also showing up black for players as well. While there isn’t a fix just yet, the developers are hard at work coming up with a solution.
Odd Minecraft Bug Only Impacting Mobile Version of the Game

Although this bug is affectingplayers on the mobile version ofMinecraft,it is not impacting every mobile version of the game. Since the issue deals with how water and other transparent blocks are rendered inMinecraft, the bug has to do with the graphics processor that a player is using. Any mobile device equipped with the Samsung Xclipse GPU will have players seeing the transparent blocks as black, as the GPU is showing these blocks as solid objects and thus not taking into account their transparent properties when rendering them.
The developers are currently working on a complete fix, the same as they wouldwith any weirdMinecraftbug. Players are encouraged to report any new issues they find within the game on Mojang’s bug-tracking website. In the meantime,Minecraftplayers can still enjoy playing the mobile version of the game as long as they don’t mind their water appearing a little darker than usual.
