Summary

Nick Kolcheff, better known by his online moniker Nickmercs, has shared some harsh words about Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm IV after his former collaborator resumed hisYouTubestreaming schedule in early September. The move saw Nickmercs suggest that his decision to cut ties with the streamer prior to hisYouTubereturn was irrevocable.

In late June 2024,Dr Disrespect admitted to exchanging some “inappropriate” messages with a minorvia the now-defunct Twitch Whispers service. The 42-year-old content creator labeled that 2017 incident as the reason why he was permanently banned from Twitch in 2020, all the while insisting he did nothing illegal. He then announced he was taking a break from streaming to take an extended family vacation, from which he had returned in early September 2024.

Nickmercs Calls Dr Disrespect’s Twitch Whispers Scandal ‘Inexcusable’

One day followingDr Disrespect’s return stream, Nickmercs decided to throw some major shade at his former friend and long-time collaborator. Taking to Twitter on September 7, Nickmercs asserted that as someone who is “married with children, pushin' 40” (Dr Disrespect was 35 at the time of the incident), the streamer’s decision to exchange inappropriate messages with a minor is “inexcusable” behavior. This is what prompted him to cut ties with Dr Disrespect, Nickmercs said, with the overall wording of hisstatementstrongly suggesting that this decision is final.

This r***** Dr Disrespect is married with children, pushin’ 40. Admits to texting a minor inappropriately. His words, not mine. So I cut ties, because obviously that’s inexcusable. Now I’m a s*** friend for not having his back??? Buncha brain-rot m*****s on this app.

The tweet itself was seemingly primarily directed at some of Dr Disrespect’s fans who have been hounding Nickmercs for not defending the streamer in the aftermath of the Twitch Whispers scandal. WhileNickmercs already called Dr Disrespect’s behavior “inexcusable” back in late June2024, this follow-up also saw him throw some derogatory insults at both the streamer and his disgruntled followers. In a subsequent exchange with one Twitter user, Nickmercs said that Dr Disrespect previously contacted him and “the boys” to apologize for dragging them into this mess by association. “Regardless, it doesn’t matter,” Nickmercs concluded.

Dr Disrespect Says He Doesn’t ‘Claim To Be Perfect’ in Comeback Stream

During his September 6 return stream, Dr Disrespect said that he doesn’t “claim to be perfect,” but reiterated his past stance that he did nothing illegal. He also accused Twitch of double standards, claiming some of the platform’s content creators have previously gotten away with breaking many of its rules without getting banned. At its peak, his comeback stream had over 230,000 viewers.

Dr Disrespect Intends to Reapply for YouTube Partner Program Soon

Shortly after he admitted to sending inappropriate messages to a minor via Twitch Whispers,Dr Disrespect found himself kicked from the YouTube Partner Programin late June. Reflecting on this turn of events during his September 6 stream, the content creator said he has the opportunity to reapply for the program, revealing that he plans to do so on September 25.
