Destiny 2 Warlock Costume Is Inspired by the Celtic God of the Underworld

StrawberriJami’s Celtic Warlock costume employs a number of parts designed to evoke the appearance of Arawn, and is centered around the use ofThe Stag Warlock Exotic Helmet. In keeping with its name, The Stag uses the skull of a male deer, complete with antlers. Like other figures from Celtic tradition, Arawn is often depicted wearing a deer skull as a mask. The Stag was also colored with the Dark Omolon shader.

To match Arawn’s furred cloak and color scheme, StrawberriJami used a number of Warlock gear pieces, like the Opulent Strix Robes with its thick, prominent furred collar. Colored with the Gamekeeper shader, the chest piece successfully replicated Arawn’s thick brown cloak and silhouette. Additional mystical-themed visual elements were added by theSeason of the WishAnthemic Invocation boots colored with Dark Omolon and the Hexwrought Gloves colored with Cursed Azure. TheShadowkeep-era Dreambane Bond adds a further touch of magical flair, thanks to its wing-shaped structure and eerie bronze coloration when combined with the Sinking Feeling shader.

Community members praised StrawberriJami’s work for its understated appeal and occult theme. One commenter also drew attention to the costume’s effective use of brown-tinted shaders, saying that earth tones and browns are sorely underutilized amongDestiny 2players, who tend to prefer flashier colors or “tactical” black.
