My Time at Evershinewas announced with a reveal trailer, listing several gameplay details that further enhance the series' formula. In the first two titles, the protagonist was a builder focused on improving the towns of Portia andSandrock with their crafting skills. InMy Time at Evershine, however, the protagonist will act as the Governor. In addition to being able to build things with their own hands, they will also need to delegate tasks to other NPCs, managing the town to the best of their ability.

For the first time,My Time at Evershinewill introduce a cooperative mode in its campaign, allowing up to four players to enjoy the main story together. The popularromance system fromMy Time at Sandrockwill also return inMy Time at Evershine, with the studio aiming to include up to 10 love options. The studio will launch aKickstarter campaignon September 24 to ensure that the production of the game stays within budget.
Zifei Wu, the creative director of theMy Timeseries, mentioned thatMy Time at Sandrockhad a cost of around $12 million, speculating thatMy Time at Evershinewill be in a similar range. For this reason, Wu believes that having extra funding in the early stages will helpMy Time at Evershineachieve bigger and better things. Before its official release,My Time at Sandrocklaunched in Early Access, which provided some breathing room for its development budget.
My Time at Evershinehas yet to announce a release date, but the title is planning to launch for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch’s successor console.
