Summary

The Hero Public Safety Commission could be seen as the backbone that held together the Hero society inMy Hero Academia. The Safety Commission is in charge of many Hero-related matters. It works to sway the public’s opinion in favor of the Heroes, silently sweeping corrupted Heroes under the rug or getting rid of villains without the public knowing.

However, throughout the Safety Commission, it has seen a variety of presidents, each building on the systems that have been implemented. However, after the Final War, a new president was chosen for this role, one who already knew how the Commission worked and had followed its commands at will.

What is the Hero Public Safety Commission?

The backbone of the Hero Society and responsible for its upcoming Heroes

The Hero Public Safety Commission is a law enforcement agency regulating interactions between Heroes and the general public. It is also responsible for the general public’s perception of the Hero Society and commissions dangerous missions to specific Heroes.

The Public Safety Commission governs both the Hero Association and the Police Force. Additionally, the Safety Commission is also responsible for administrating Hero-related matters, which include theProvisional Hero LicenseExam, in which an employee of the company will administer the Exam and supplementary Exams.

As mentioned previously, the Safety Commission is also responsible for large and dangerous operations; these include situations such as the Kamino Incident in which theLeague of VillainskidnapedBakugo Katsuki.During this, the Police Force and Heroes are tasked to work together. The Police Force works in conjunction with the Pro Heroes, as they are the ones arresting and jailing them, while the Pro Heroes also conduct their investigations; it’s primarily the duty of the Police Force to interrogate and arrest the villains.

Over time, the Hero Public Safety Commission also became corrupted by its own goals. As more Pro Heroes reached fame and dabbled in crimes, the Public Safety Commission needed its own task force to subdue these corrupted Pro Heroes silently and take down egregious villains.

However, the methods that the Hero Public Safety Commission enforced were that of finding young, talented children and training them to kill at command. This was the result of Lady Nagant, a Hero Commission Agentwho also worked as an assassin. After Lady Nagant became depressed and could no longer kill for the Safety Commission, she killed one of the Hero Commission presidents, and thus, she was jailed in Tartarus.

This also served as a learning curve for the Public Safety Commission, as their search for Lady Nagant’s successor led them to find a younger, more talented child and give him training and education. This person was Takami Keigo, the number two Pro Hero, Hawks. However, it’s likelydue to Hawk’s backgroundthat he was less affected by the acts he needed to commit under the order of the Public Safety Commission.

Who is the new President of the Hero Public Safety Commission?

As an agent of the Commission and Pro Hero, Hawks is the best for this role

ThroughoutMy Hero Academia, the Hero Public Safety Commission has had several presidents. Before the start of the series, Lady Nagant killed the president, who had sought her out and commissioned her to kill various villains and corrupt Pro Heroes. After he passed, Madam President, who disagreed with the previous president’s methods, took over this position.

Madam President previously served as the Vice President of the Hero Public Safety Commission. She served as the president for some time, then found Takami Keigo and trained him to become a Pro Hero and an agent for the Commission. She was also the individual who instructed Hawks to infiltrate the League of Villains anda double agent.

However, during theParanormal Liberation War arc, the Hero Public Safety Commission requested a meeting with Yotsubashi Rikiya, also known as Re-Destro, the president of the Detnerat company, a company that supplies support items. This meeting was, in fact, a means toarrest Re-Destro. However, they were already aware of this plan and instead sent Twice’s double to the meeting. Re-Destro then killed Madam President during this altercation.

After this incident, Yokumiru Mera took over as the acting president of the Hero Public Safety Commission. However, this role also came with some drawbacks. The company’s president needed to sign off on specific documents, and Mera did not have adequate permission to do so. This is because, during the Paranormal Liberation War, many higher-ups in the company were either seriously injured or dead.

Thus, during the Final War, Japan could not receive adequate support from allied countries as the necessary paperwork could not be completed without a signature, as mentioned in Chapter 303. Although Mera was announced as the acting president of the Safety Commission, his role during the Final War was insignificant.Best Jeanistand Hawks took the leading roles during this time and before it, placating the citizens and finding solutions to the current situation. However, it was after the Final War that Hawks became the new president of the Safety Commission.

After Hawks took on this position in Chapter 426, he pardoned Lady Nagant for her crimes; however, she still felt uneasy about re-entering society and thus stayed in prison. Hawks was the best person to assume this role, as he knew how the Safety Commission operates. However, given his new role, he would likely bring about new methods instead of the egregious ones that previously held together the Safety Commission.

My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA.
