Within the school, all students are separated into the Departments they specify. The Business Course, or Department of Management, specializes in all aspects of heroism.
The Hero society inMy Hero Academiadoes not function on Pro Heroes alone. Instead, various sections of the Hero society require support. In this Hero society, it is possible for aPro Hero to open their own agencyand govern their business. However, these Pro Heroes are primarily out on the field, defeating villains and preventing crime.
This is when the Business Course students or Management Departments will shine. As in its name, the Management Department will handle various aspects of the agency; these include promoting, funding, and possibly PR for the Pro Heroes. As mentioned in Chapter 26, the Business Course Department is responsible for promoting Pro Heroes based on their physical attributes or artistic sensibility. As a result, it’s likely they also play a part in the recruitment aspect of the hero agencies.

As mentioned above, the business course department handles all aspects of heroism that Pro Heroes cannot handle, as they are out on the battlefield daily. This shows the importance of the business course department, as funding for various ventures or paying for damaged property would only be possible with their help.
However, there are other reasons the Management Department is so important to the Hero society. In Chapter 359, business course student Nagashira Futo reveals that another job of the Management Department is to produce Heroes, and their work is meant to bring Heroes closer to society.
During the Endeavor andParanormal Liberation War arc, the citizens of this Hero society quickly lost faith in their Pro Heroes. During this time,Dabi revealed the Todoroki family secrets, bringing light to Endeavor’s neglect and abuse of his family. This was also when theLeague of Villainsgained more power by absorbing theMeta Liberation Army. Overall, several factors caused the citizens to lose hope in their Heroes.
During this trying time, the Public Relations department of the Hero agencies should have quilled or rectified the issues at hand. However, the result of not maintaining this Public Relations caused the general public not to heed the Pro Hero’s words, take matters into their own hands when the villains were released from Tartarus, and invest in illegal support items.
Due to the above, chaos ensued. The general public no longer wanted to believe in their Pro Heroes, and when aspiring heroes would seek to help and assist them, they would driven away. In addition, when Endeavor would be out on the field battling villains, the area’s citizens would throw trash at him, calling him a disgrace of a Pro Hero, and they no longer had faith in the Hero’s abilities.
This is why the Department of Management or Business course is so important. This type of education helps the students learn how important it is to bring theHero Societyand Pro Heroes together. A stark imbalance would occur when these two fell out; it would prevent the Heroes from protecting the area and could lead the citizens to participate in dangerous activity, resulting in injury.
In Chapter 380, Nagashira Futo, a business course student, informs Gentle Criminal why filming the actions of the Pro Heroes in action is vital for the state of the Hero society. During the Final War, many citizens still had reservations about the heroes. However, by filming the battle and the UA’s floating fortress, the business course students were able to right the wrongs.
At this time, the business course students could only film the events that had occurred, intending to make a documentary from the footage they filmed during the battle with Shigaraki andAll For One. However, UA’s electromagnetic barrier had weakened, which allowed La Brava to hack their cell phones.
