The Difference Between Deku’s Victories in the Final War

As the Final War approached, there were crucial differences in how Bakugo and Deku would battle. Previously, Midoriya Izuku always wanted to take the burden of the battle alone, wanting to fight, taking on the majority of the damage, and not wanting others to get hurt. In doing so, he would also save those in need, regardless of the damage he will sustain to himself.

This was likely due to a few reasons. The first reason was that Deku had previously been Quirkless and thus still needed to learn to control One For All fully. Due to the manyQuirks within One For All, Deku needed to continuously train his body for the Quirks that were about to manifest.

Another reason was that Deku consistently fought those much more powerful than him. As a result, he would attempt to surpass his limits further, breaking his body in the process. As the series progressed, the damage to his body led to severe repercussions and injuries.

At the time, Deku could not let anyone know ofAll For One’s existenceto protect his classmates and those around him. Consequently, this would lead him to take on most upcoming battles to prevent others from getting hurt or having their Quirks stolen. However, after Bakugo Katsuki saved him from being impaled by All For One, Deku began to realize he could not fight alone.

Unfortunately, it takes him some time to realize this as we enterthe Dark Deku arc, and he continues to fight alone. After his classmates save him, Deku realizes that he does not need to fight alone anymore, and many of his classmates and Pro Heroes are there to support him. This was an essential lesson that Deku needed to learn, as it would greatly help him in the Final War against Shigaraki.

He suffers a lot in the process, but that’s what makes me want to root for him.

During the Final War, Deku finally learns to rely on others during battle. He no longer underestimates their strength and relies on them when he needs to face All For One and Shigaraki. While most of thebattle against Tomura Shigarakiis a one-on-one battle between him and Deku, when it is time to deliver the final blow, the Pro Heroes and many of Deku’s classmates support him.

Nearing the end of the battle against Shigaraki, Deku forcefully transferred all of the Quirks and Vestiges within One For All into Shigaraki. Unfortunately, this left him with embers of the Quirk, which were thus less powerful than what it originally was. As All For One began to take control of Shigaraki’s body, all the Heroes that had taken part in the War has came to support Deku during the battle. With their help and assistance,Deku won the battle against All For One, which was controlling Shigaraki’s body.

The Difference Between Bakugo’s Victory in the Final War

With Many Advantages on His Side, Bakugo Obtained a Perfect Victory

The victory that Deku achieved was starkly different from the one of Bakugo Katsuki. Deku’s victory against All For One and Shigaraki was an accumulation of the friendships and support he had gained throughout his time at UA High School.

Bakugo Katsuki’s battle with All For One took place after All For One defeated and was about to kill All Might. After beingrevived with the help of Edgeshot, Bakugo finally understood how his Quirk now operates after it awoken. Bakugo faced All For One alone and without any backup or support during this battle.

Luckily for Bakugo, All For One was running out of time and desperately needed to reach Shigaraki’s body to do the transfer. A few key things helped Bakugo during this battle. The first was that Bakugo now understood howhis Cluster Quirkworked and that All For One was intimated by the presence of Kudo manifesting in Bakugo. The second was that with each hit Bakugo successfully landed on All For One, he would become younger, and thus, his power would become disarrayed.

After his final attack, Howitzer Impact, All For One was reduced to that of an infant and finally disappeared into dust after one last attack on Bakugo. Overall, Bakugo faced his victory alone, defeating All For One with several advantages on his side, whereas Deku faced a harsher battle and accepted the help from his friends that paved the path to his victory.
