Summary
My Hero Academiaconcluded recently, and fans have now had enough time to process the ending and come to a conclusion on how they feel about it. The general consensus is thatMy Hero Academia’s ending was decent, to say the least. However, it was certainly not perfect.
In many ways, the ending was rushed, and, for many characters in the story, it was actually very underwhelming. Still, it did do some things right, but others, such as paying attention to the the side cast, was one of its weak points. In fact, there are some characters inMy Hero Academiawho received ends so terrible that they simply didn’t even matter at the end.
Nejire Hado
Graduated From UA After The War
Nejire was a student in UA’s Class 3A. She was seen graduating after the end of the final war, and ever since then, fans never got to see anything from her. While Mario disappeared as well, at least fans knew that he had become the Top Hero in Japan.
For Nejire, fans did not know anything and it is highly likely that they will never get to see her or hear from her again in the future as well, even if My Hero Academia gets a sequel series.
Tamaki Amajiki
Graduated From UA Only To Never Be Seen Again
Just like Nejire, Tamaki is a character that fans were heavily invested in. He was one of the most exciting characters from the seniors at UA, and after graduating from the school, he most likely became a Pro Hero. Of course, fans never got to see or hear from him again, and his exploits as a pro-hero were never revealed to the fans.
This is a shame, because this character carried a lot of potential, and at least a mention of him being among the top Heroes would have been nice for the fans.
Shinso
Remained On The Sidelines
Hitoshi Shinso is a character that fans did get to see at the end ofMy Hero Academia, but his overall journey in the story was somewhat underwhelming. Still, at the end of the series, at least fans saw him transfer to Class 2A, when Deku and the other students moved up a grade.
That was the last chance for him, and he wasn’t focused on in the epilogue at all. All his dreams and goals were irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, and it is highly likely that he will not be focused on in the future either.
Started Quirk Counseling
Ochaco Uraraka is quite a divisive character.Her ending was certainly not the worst in the story. In fact, in many ways, she got a good ending. However, it certainly was lacking in many aspects, which makes it somewhat a mix of a good and an underwhelming ending.
While Ochaco did fulfill one of her goals by starting Quirk Counseling, her exploits as a Hero remain completely unknown. This is especially shocking after the Awakening of her Quirk in the final war. On top of that, her romantic life should have blossomed with Deku at the end of the series, but was completely untouched and this left a sour taste in the mouths of the fans.
Mirko
Never Seen In The Epilogue
Mirko is a character that fans absolutely came to lovethroughout the run of My Hero Academia. Unfortunately for her, she lost a significant portion of her body in the wars that she fought. After the final war, Mirko was heavily crippled, but, by the looks of it, she did not stop being a pro hero.
She would certainly have been an inspiration for many, given her disabilities, yet, she was not focused on at all. The last chapter of My Hero Academia mentioned some top Heroes, but mirgo was certainly not among them.
Toya Todoroki
Was Sentenced To A Slow Death
Toya Todoroki is a character that fans wish got a better ending inMy Hero Academia. Being a victim of abuse, Toya was pushed on a path of evil, and he certainly did do many despicable things for which he needed to be punished. However, in the end, Toya was essentially put on a slow and painful path to die.
He was saved in the war, but his condition was so horrible that it was essentially a matter of when not if he would die. After the 8 year timeskip,he has likely died alreadyand fans did not even get to see that on screen.
Shigaraki Tomura
The Leader Of The League of Villains
Shigaraki’s end might just be one of biggest mess-upsthat the author managed in My Hero Academia. His past was one full of pain and emotion, and this is especially true after fans found out his true backstory in the Final War, when Deku transferred all his quirks to him.
Shigaraki was manipulated right from the moment of birth until the very end, and eventually, was killed by Deku. Deku failed to save him, and he essentially crumbled away into the wind. He deserved better, and most of all, even if the author did want to kill him off, it could have been handled in a much better way.
Deku
Became Quirkless Once Again
The protagonist of the series, Dekuwas dealt one of the worst endings in My Hero Academia. Of course, Deku did get to be a Pro Hero, and he did save the world. In that regard, the ending is tolerable, at the very least. However, for the main character, the standards should be much higher.
Deku should have gotten a much better end, and because he didn’t, this is certainly an underwhelming end to his character. Essentially, Deku lost the One For All at some point after the war, and remained Quirkless for his remaining life. He then became a teacher at UA, while his friends became all Pro Heroes. In the end, he was given a suit of armor by All Might, which enabled him to become a hero again.

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the “One-For-All” quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
