With such a wide range of characters, it’s not exactly shocking thatMultiVersushas been killing it lately with its cosmetics.Skins like the Batman Who Laughs, Uber Jasonand Lost Samurai Jack have been standouts, but each skin, banner, and ringout effect that’s been added since the beta have been excellent additions to the game, with few exceptions. And even though they’ve all been great so far, Player First Games is still sleeping on one of the coolest and most versatile cosmetic items the game has to offer.

Character announcer packs have been adding tons of personality to the matches for as long as they’ve been inMultiVersus. These cosmetic items change the announcer’s voice actor to match one of the characters in the game, or in some unique cases, fan favorites who haven’t quite made the full roster just yet. While it’s easy for the announcer’s voice lines to become white noise in the midst of a match, there’s so much more potential here that Player First Games is letting go to waste.

New MultiVersus Update Has Fans Wanting to Save the Game

Announcer Packs Have the Most Potential of Any Cosmetic in MultiVersus

MultiVersushas proven that it’s not afraid of adding some bold, deep-cut characters. The Jason Voorhees reveal onMultiVersus' launchis probably the best example of this. That said, there’s no realistic way to include everyone’s favorite roster picks. Development time is too valuable, and some characters just aren’t going to make it to full fighter status. But the announcer packs could be the way to fix that.

MultiVersus' announcer packs are a great way to include more charactersinto the game without having to worry about developing full movesets for them or over investing development resources on another whole fighter. It’s a perfect middle ground for fans to have their favorite characters in the game, even if they don’t fit the mold of a traditional fighting game character. Though that certainly hasn’t stopped Player First Games before, when it put characters like Velma in the game.

Characters Who’d Make Great MultiVersus Announcer Packs

Make Sure the Announcer Packs are Funny

The best fighter pack currently in the game is arguablyThe Joker, voiced by the always fantastic Mark Hamill. This is due in part to Hamill’s iconic portrayal, but also because of the humor inherent to that character. Joker is always cracking wise and being sarcastic in his voice, and his announcer pack lets players hear that all the time, even if the character isn’t in the match. The best part of an announcer pack is a character that’s fun to listen to, and having lighthearted fan favorites join the game as announcers would be perfect for that. Luckily, MultiVersus has access to the entire Cartoon Network and Adult Swim library and there is no shortage of funny characters in that collection of IP.

Legendary Announcer Packs Need More Voice Lines

The one downside of announcer packs is how repetitive they can get. After a couple of games, the player is going to hear just about everything the pack has to offer. At such a point in time that Player First Games really leans into announcer packs, it needs to consider this issue whenrecording lines with theMultiVersusvoice actors.

MultiVersusshould have legendary tier announcer packscontaining a vastly expanded library of voice lines. This would help make each match feel more alive as the announcer’s voice lines would have much more variation from match to match and make the investment in the legendary pack that much more worthwhile.
