Summary
Fans can now see what Peacemaker’s Animality finisher looks like inMortal Kombat 1’s DLC, and it is just as wild and patriotically themed as one would expect from DC’s freedom-loving antihero. Animalities were first introduced as an alternative to Fatalities in 1995’sMortal Kombat 3, allowing players to transform into different animals and brutally execute their enemies. After being absent from the series since 1996’sMortal Kombat Trilogy, Animalities are finally coming back toMortal Kombat 1in a free update coinciding with today’s Khaos Reigns DLC.
Ever since Khaos Reigns was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con a few months ago, the developers behindMortal Kombat 1have been showing off each character’s bestial finishing move. Some of these include Smoke transforming into a gorilla and tearing his foe apart, Mileena shifting into a praying mantis to devour her enemy, and the newly-added Noob Sabot taking the form of a pair of crocodiles and breaking his foe in half like a wishbone. EvenMortal Kombat 1’s DLC guest characters are getting Animalities, withInvincible’s Omni-Man transforming into the hulking Hail Mary creature that he once battled in the show.
Now it’s Peacemaker’s turn to show off hisnewMortal Kombat 1Animality, with Twitter user thetiny being one of many sharing clips of it online. Once Peacemaker receives the iconic “Finish Him” message, he fittingly transforms into a bald eagle that resembles his beloved pet Eagly, save for wearing his signature helmet. After sharing a makeshift high-five, the two eagles fly, slashing at the opponent’s knees before Peacemaker unloads a hail of machine gun fire into their torso and Eagly blows them up with a grenade. The eagle Peacemaker then sits proudly as Eagly flies an American flag past his head and the announcer declares him the victor.
Peacemaker Becomes An Eagle In Mortal Kombat 1 Animality
The Animalities forPeacemaker’s fellowMortal Kombat 1guest charactershave already been shown, withThe Boysvillain Homelander performing a similar attack where he transforms into a red, white, and blue-colored griffin and melts his opponent with his dreaded heat vision. So far, the Animalites for futureMK 1DLC characters T-1000, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian haven’t been revealed yet, and it will be interesting to see what NetherRealm comes up with for them, especially since the latter two aren’t known for having any kind of transformation powers in their source material.
The same could be said for Peacemaker, butMortal Kombat 1’s new DLCis giving him the ability to turn into a bald eagle for his Animality finisher. The choice of animal is highly appropriate given Peacemaker’s patriotic motif and affection for his own pet eagle. TheMortal Kombat 1Khaos Reigns DLC is now live, meaning that players will be able to unleash this newfound power along with the other Animalities added in this new update.
