The addition of the “Fiendsmith” theme has also seen several decks rise to top-tier status, with the archetype serving as a generic engine that can be splashed into a variety of decks. Konami is now taking aim at Fiendsmith, Snake-Eye, and more with its newest banlist update.
Konami officially released the September update to theYu-Gi-OhTCG Forbidden & Limited List on Saturday afternoon, banning four different cards. “Fiendsmith’s Lacrima,” “Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess,” “Hot Red Dragon Archfiend King Calamity,” and “Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal” were all set to Forbidden status, removing them from the format. The banlist saw eleven different cards set to Limited status, with powerful cards like “Snake-Eye Ash” and"Pot of Prosperity" affected. The new update to the Forbidden & Limited List will go into effect on September 2.

Yu-Gi-Oh’s newest update to the Semi-Limited list saw plenty of cards receive boosts to their in-game status as part of the changes. Each of the “Dragon Ruler” cards was moved to two copies per deck alongside “Thunder Dragon Colossus,” “Lunalight Tiger,” and “Ib the World Chalice Justiciar.” Seven different cards were freed from the banlist entirely, including cards forpopular themes like “Performapal"and “Majespecter” as well as classic Trap card “Time Seal.”
