While2024 has been a down year for certain live service games likeConcord, Marvel Rivals appears to have plenty of momentum on its side thanks in large part to the Marvel branding powering it. The game already features a huge roster of fan favorite characters, though a recent trailer teases that NetEase has even more surprises in store for players.
Recently,Marvel Rivalsconfirmed the arrival of Psylocke, a fan favorite character who is able to use psionic energy to help her in combat by creating weapons, turning invisible, or even dashing across rooftops. While the Psylocke announcement has been met with positive reaction from fans, many caught a glimpse at the next character to be added thanks to a couple of seconds at the end, with a crescent-shaped shadow gliding across the moon. Clearly, NetEase is teasing the arrival of Moon Knight in a future announcement and the tease has caused plenty of excitement in the community.

Interestingly enough, Moon Knight’s inclusion isn’t a complete surprise as apreviousMarvel Rivalsdatamine from Miller Rossearlier this year outted a huge list of characters and maps, many of which were unconfirmed at that time. Many characters on the list have since been confirmed, including Captain America, Hulk, Storm, Jeff the Landshark, and the just announced Psylocke. The list also mentioned Moon Knight along with some characters that have yet to be teased, like Ultron, Squirrel Girl, and Blade to name a few.

With both games share a lot in common, NetEase is attempting to out maneuver its biggest competitor by announcing that all launch characters and ones added in the future as DLC will be free to play, not requiring progression on a Battle Pass to unlock.
