However, the Eregion is a kingdom that was facing Sauron’s wrath and was on the verge of falling. Adar and his forces have launched their assault on the Eregion, paving the way for Sauron to more easily carry out his schemes. In the seventh episode, titled Doomed to Die, the narrative stays rooted in the events unfolding in the Eregion, delving into the ongoing battle between light and darkness. Additionally, Celebrimbor finally gets the idea that Lord Annatar is not what he claims to be and is lying about everything being good in his kingdom. The siege has begun and Adar is not in the mood to stop. Meanwhile, Sauron has told the residents of the Eregion that Celebrimbor is out of his mind and, as a result, he will take the responsibility of guarding the kingdom. Well, that’s what he wanted, isn’t it? But Celebrimbor quickly realizes that something is wrong and finally confronts Sauron. Eventually, he gets to know the reality and how his kingdom is being attacked by Adar’s army. The conversation between Celebrimbor and Sauron is brilliant. This is one of the plotlines that has always been intriguing and thrilling at the same time. Additionally, the writers have made sure that there is a shifting of power in their relationship. In certain moments,Celebrimbor outshines Sauron, and in others, Sauron comes out at the top. Although fans already have an idea of who’s gonna win this battle, it’s fascinating to see this narrative getting richer.

On the other hand, King Durin III continues to be under the influence of the ring and makes unwise decisions. He presses his people to keep on digging the mountain so that more and more gold can be extracted. Moreover, Elrond has reached Khazad-dûm to seek help from Prince Durin IV in the war against Adar and Sauron. Without any guesses, Durin IV doesn’t waste any time in saying yes to that request. Meanwhile, things have gotten out of hand in the Eregion as Celebrimbor finally gets to see the reality and how his kingdom is being attacked. He manages to evade Sauron and goes outside his castle. Even though he tries giving orders to his men during the siege, they refuse to listen to him and take orders from Sauron. In the process, something terrible happens that makes things worse for Celebrimbor. Once again, this sequence shows another layer of Sauron’s power and influence. He is now out in the open, making Celebrimbor realize what he is capable of. Additionally, it also reveals the true, evil nature of Sauron, who is ready to bring calamity to people to take control of Middle Earth.

Elrond_War

The seventh episode ofThe Rings of Powerseason 2ends with a long, breathtaking sequence of war. Yes, the war has begun and the heroes of Middle Earth are finally on the ground to defend the Eregion. Elron, Gil-galad, and their army are ready to take on the Orcs, not providing them the chance to enter Lord Celebrimbor’s kingdom. But Adar is ready to take his attack to a whole new level and introduces Hill-Trollers on the battlefield. Also, Galadriel has managed to get free from Adar’s captivity, with a little help from Elrond. The battle sequence is astonishing and the makers masterfully blend grand cinematography with intricate choreography, creating a visceral experience that pulls viewers into the heart of the action. The use of practical effects and CGI is seamlessly integrated, resulting in visually stunning moments that resonate for a very, very long time. These sequences truly capture the epic essence of the story, establishing them as a standout element of the franchise and setting a high standard for what epic filmmaking should be.
