Summary
The ESRB has released its content rating forLEGO Horizon Adventures, and this could be a sign that the crossover game is getting ready to launch soon. Earlier this year,Horizondeveloper Guerrilla Games officially announced that it was partnering with Studio Gobo to releaseLEGO Horizon Adventures, a retelling of 2017’sHorizon Zero Dawnthat reimagines Aloy, her allies, and the hulking Machines of theHorizonuniverse as colorful LEGO minifigures and models in an action-adventure experience styled after Traveler’s Tales’ popularLEGOgames.
Since its official unveiling at this year’s Summer Game Fest, there hasn’t been a whole lot of news aboutLEGO Horizon Adventures, and its current release date is still just a vague “Holiday 2024” window. Back in August, the PlayStation Store briefly listedLEGO Horizon Adventures’ launch dateas November 14, but this was quickly taken down. Many expect the family-friendlyLEGO Horizon Adventuresto be released sometime around December to fully capitalize on the holiday shopping season.
In the meantime, theEntertainment Software Rating Boardhas released its official content rating forLEGO Horizon Adventures, classifying the game as E10+ for “Fantasy Violence and Language.” This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise given the child-friendly nature ofthe pastLEGOgames, but the rating summary does make note of at least one use of mild profanity in addition to the use of punches, bows, and explosives to defeat enemies that break apart into LEGO pieces. The ESRB’s summary goes on to describe fast-paced battles accompanied by explosions, impact sounds, and cries of pain, as well as boss encounters with large robot dinosaurs.
ESRB Releases E10+ Rating for LEGO Horizon Adventures
Again, none of this will come as a surprise for fans of either theLEGOgames orHorizon Zero Dawn, but this rating update could be a promising sign thatLEGO Horizon Adventuresis on track for releasesometime later this year. ESRB ratings typically come out a few months before the game in question hits stores, meaning that it probably won’t be long beforeLEGO Horizon Adventuresgets its full launch date announced.
There is a lot to look forward to withLEGO Horizon Adventures, such as its presentation of the typically dark and post-apocalyptic world ofHorizonin bright LEGO blocks and the fact that it will be the first game in the franchise to beavailable on the Nintendo Switchin addition to the usual PlayStation and PC systems. Gamers looking for a fun, family-friendly action game may wish to keep their eyes peeled now thatLEGO Horizon Adventureshas an official ESRB rating.
