The reports, first started byDeadlineare that the role of Hal Jordan is just about filled and that Kyle Chandler is expected to officially agree to a deal in the coming days.

Gunn is taking his version and hopefully improved version of the DCU in the same direction as the Marvel Cinematic Universe so that characters like the Green Lanterns will cross over into filmssuch asSuperman: Legacy. How exactly the newest movie planned around the Man of Steel andLanternswill blend together is still a mystery, but this latest report means there are at least two characters now cast from this series that could eventually join the Justice League.

While Jordan and Stewart will be the stars of the show, a third human Green Lantern is also expected to appear in the Max streaming series. Nathan Fillion was brought on boardto play Guy Gardner.
Should his deal be finalized, the role of Hal Jordan will be the first time Chandler has played a superhero. The veteran actor is probably best known among television audiences as Eric Taylor, the head coach of the Permian Panthers football team over a 76-episode run onFriday Night Lights. Despite that series’ run being over since 2011, the family drama with football action mixed in has long been a cult favorite thanks in no small part to its very popular tagline, which is the motto Coach Taylor uses with his players; “clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.”
While a date hasn’t been officially announced, it’s expectedLanternswill begin filming in the first half of 2025.
