This article contains spoilers from the Naruto and Boruto series.
Summary
Masashi Kishimoto, the creator ofNaruto, recently got an opportunity to speak at a convention, and fans absolutely loved finally hearing more from the author, who has largely maintained a low profile ever since the conclusion of theNarutoseries. Fans have always wanted to know ’s work on the incredibly popularNarutoseries, and this time around, he spoke about various interesting things, such as his inspiration for many concepts in Naruto, his favorite manga, and, of course, the greatest plot points in the Naruto series as well.
At the same time, another interesting thing that Kishimoto spoke of was the sequel to the Naruto series, Boruto. This was expected, because along with Kishimoto, Ikemoto was also present during this event, and Boruto was a constant topic, just Like Naruto. Fans, naturally, asked Kishimoto about his opinion on Boruto Uzumaki, and the answer was certainly very intriguing.
The Legend Of Naruto Uzumaki And How It Led To The Creation Of Boruto
When it comes to Naruto Uzumaki, fans know that his legend was built from scratch and that he had absolutely nothing gifted to him. Naruto was made the Jinchuriki of Kurama right upon birth. Although many fans look at this as a blessing for Naruto, it was actually anything but.Kurama represented Naruto’s weakness. It represented everything that ruined Naruto’s childhood, and essentially made it so that he lived a miserable life. Kurama was Naruto’s biggest weakness, and although it did grant him certain advantages in battle, such as a high recovery rate, and, at the same time, bigger chakra reserves, other than that, it did not offer much else to him, meaning with whatever Naruto built over the years was down to his own strength.
There were certainly instances when Kurama took over Naruto’s body and offered him his very own chakra, helping him out greatly in battle. This might be seen by many fans as an advantage. However, it must be remembered that every time Kurama allowed Naruto to utilize his power, he did this to hurt Naruto, weaken his seal, and essentially kill him. All things considered, Kurama truly never worked in unison with Naruto until much later into the story, by which point, Naruto was already strong enough to defeat him on his own.
Naruto’s legend is directly linked to Kurama, not because this beast offered him great powers, but because it was his biggest weakness. Naruto conquered Kurama and won his heart. This is even more impactful because Kurama, in the story, was known to be a manifestation of hatred itself. The fact that Naruto went on to win Kurama’s heart just goes to show what kind of a ninja he was and why he was truly deserving to be the Child of Prophecy. In the end, Naruto built his legacy with his own two hands, and he went from being a talentless ninja who had the world against him, including the very fox that was sealed inside him, to the greatest shinobi to have ever lived.
Naruto accomplished all this against all odds and, at the same time, won everyone over. Not only did he gain millions of fans all over the world, but at the same time, even within theNarutoseries, those who absolutely despised him came to appreciate him because he was the one who saved their lives in the end. It is safe to say that Naruto’s legacy is something that will never be beaten, and, at the same time, Naruto was established as a legendary character who, although might look stupid at times, has great depth attached to him.
At the same time, Boruto is a very interesting character as well and fans have seen quite a lot of him over the years. Boruto has developed into quite an exciting individual, and, when compared to Naruto, fans know there are quite a few differences, despite them being parent and child.
How Boruto Uzumaki Differs From Naruto According To Kishimoto
Boruto Uzumaki Is The Polar Opposite Of Naruto
At a recent convention, Kishimoto spoke about Boruto and Naruto in great detail. When asked about theBorutoseries, Kishimoto put forward his opinion on many things, such as the Otsutsuki, along with what he thought of the various exciting characters in the series. Curiously enough, Kishimoto was asked about the main difference between Boruto and Naruto Uzumaki. Given that he’s the one who created both characters, Kishimoto was, undoubtedly, the best person to answer this question. Here’s what Kishimoto had to say about Boruto Uzumaki when compared to his very own father: Boruto is more capable of analyzing his environment, his surroundings, he has a more skillful side than Naruto.
Clearly,Kishimoto highlights how Boruto Uzumaki is a skilled ninjaand is the total opposite of Naruto. This plays into their stories and builds character for both of these individuals. For Naruto, fans already know how his story turned from him being a talentless ninja who was deemed a failure, to one where he reached the very top and acquired tremendous power, and with that, acknowledgment of the people. For Boruto Uzumaki, things are totally different. Boruto was born with immense talent and skill right from the get-go. In fact, he was deemed a prodigy by many in the world, and that just goes to show how skilled he truly was.
As is implied by Kishimoto, Boruto is much more talented than Naruto. He is skilled enough to analyze his surroundings before stepping into battle, he knows how to use his environment to the best of his advantage, and he simply picks up on things quicker than Naruto ever did. This is evident from the fact that Boruto could already use three nature transformations when he was a Genin, and he even managed to infuse Wind Release into the Rasengan, creating the Vanishing Rasengan at a very young age, which is absolutely staggering, to say the least. Boruto is a genius, while Naruto is anything but that.
Is Boruto Better Than Naruto?
While Impressive, Boruto Uzumaki Doesn’t Compare To His Father
Of course, Boruto being a genius and the total opposite ofNarutowould lead many fans to believe that he is better. However, more skillful doesn’t necessarily mean better.Boruto’sstory is one where everything was given to him right from the beginning and was later stripped from him in order to teach him the meaning of the things that he held. Naruto’s story was one where he had absolutely nothing, but went on to toil for everything in life and acquired absolutely everything that he ever wanted. It is clear for the fans to see thatNaruto’s story was much betterand that he will always remain the more iconic of the two. Boruto might be more skilled and more talented as a ninja but Naruto’s story was more compelling, and the way his character was written is absolutely spectacular, to a point where even a comparison with Boruto is essentially almost insulting.
Naruto and Boruto are available to read via theManga Plusand Shonen Jump apps.
