Summary
Yuji Itadori, the protagonistofJujutsu Kaisen, has grown tremendously over the last arc of the story. Although Yuji was far from being a powerful sorcerer, he has now developed greatly and even defeated the King of Curses, Sukuna, who is the strongest in history, rivaled only by the strongest modern sorcerer, Gojo.
Of course, fans were always going to compare the current Yuji to Gojo at his peak, and for those who are curious about who is stronger inJujutsu Kaisen, the answer couldn’t be clearer.
Yuji Itadori’s Performance Against Sukuna
Yuji Itadori was incredibly impressive in his fightagainst the King of Curses, Sukuna. Before Yuji even began the battle, he already received a plethora of power-ups. One of the most important powers that he received before his battle against Sukuna was a Simple Domain. With the power of the Simple Domain, Yuji was able to defend himself from domain expansion, and at the same time, form the basis of a domain expansion of his own. This was one of the greatest abilities that Yuji Itadori could have learned. However, that certainly wasn’t all. Yuji gained the power to utilize Blood Manipulation, thanks to Choso, who had him eat the Death Paintings numbers 4 to 9. If that wasn’t enough, Yuji also tapped into the power of reverse cursed technique, which was further boosted by his Blood Manipulation, lowering the stress that it put on his own body.
That’s right, Sukuna! I can kill you! – Yuji
Yuji also gained an incredible cursed technique, called Shrine, which was also utilized by Sukuna, when the battle against the King of Curses began. Although his Shrine is very different from that of Sukuna, it is just as deadly and can deal tremendous amounts of damage to all his enemies. Furthermore, Yuji also has the ability to damage the souls of his enemies. These punches were primarily responsible for defeating Sukuna, although it must be said that they won’t have the same effect on everyone, and in the case of Sukuna, it was especially strong since he was a reincarnation. Finally, Yuji’s biggest power-up in the battle against Sukuna was domain expansion. Yuji was able to expand his own domain, and he certainly did deal great amounts of damage to the King of Curses, Sukuna, with his power. Not only did Yuji utterly destroy Sukuna and rip him from Megumi’s body, but he also managed to land his powerful Sure-Hit Soul Dismantle on the King of Curses, dealing deadly damage to him in the process. Yuji clearly grew tremendously in this fight, and it can be said that he has now risen to the same level as a Special Grade Sorcerer.
Gojo’s Peak Strength Compared To Yuji
Gojo Satoru Is On A Different Level Compared To Yuji Itadori
Gojo Satoru is the strongest modern sorcerer inJujutsu Kaisen. Fans finally got to see him at the peak of his abilities during the fight against Sukuna, and it’s safe to say that Gojo was in a league of his own. Gojo was able to shock even the King of Curses, and had it not been forSukuna being inside Megumi’s bodyand having access to the 10 Shadows Technique, he would most certainly have defeated him in combat, even though he was not sure about this himself. Regardless, Gojo is a monstrously powerful fighter. Fans know him to hold the powerful Limitless technique, which allows him to control space around him. Gojo can essentially use the power of Blue, which allows him to attract, and the power of Red, which allows him to repel.
Put together, Gojo can create Purple, which essentially deletes anything and everything in its path, making it his ultimate technique. At the same time, Gojo also has an incredibly powerful Domain Expansion. Once Gojo expands his Domain, known as Unlimited Void, his targets are bombarded with an infinite amount of information, which overloads their brain and completely destroys them, leaving them paralyzed and dealing tremendous amounts of brain damage to them. Gojo has a technique that hardly anyone can survive inJujutsu Kaisen. If that wasn’t enough,Gojo also has the power of Infinity, which is almost always active.
Don’t get it twisted! You’re the challenger here! – Gojo to Sukuna
Gojo’s Infinity prevents any attack from hitting him. In order to even make contact with Gojo, one needs to have domain amplification, or another way to peel through the Infinity. The fact that Gojo’s Infinity is always active is because he has the ability to utilize reverse cursed technique to destroy and recreate the part of his brain responsible for cursed technique manipulation. Essentially, Gojo can regain his burnt-out cursed technique using reverse cursed energy, which makes him incredibly amazing. If that wasn’t enough, Gojo also has Six Eyes, which allows him to read cursed energy at the most minute level. Furthermore, with Six Eyes, Gojo’s usage of cursed energy is infinitesimal, and it almost feels like he doesn’t expend any energy at all, which is why he can open his domain multiple times in a go.
Yuji’s Ultimate Potential In Jujutsu Kaisen
Yuji Has The Potential To Reach Sukuna’s Level
When comparing the two right now, it is clear for the fansto see that Gojo is far superior to Yuji itadori. In fact, Yuji doesn’t even have a technique that can hit Gojo. If these two were to fight, Gojo would absolutely destroy him in battle without even receiving any damage. Of course, Yuji would need to learn the power of domain amplification to even hit the Strongest Modern Sorcerer, and if he did manage that, even then, the difference in strength between the two would be absolutely massive. That said, Yuji is far from his peak. Yuji can still grow tremendously in the coming years. In fact, it was clearly stated in the story that Yuji possesses the same amount of potential as Sukuna himself, which is because they possess the same technique and, at the same time, that they are relatives as well.
Eventually, Yuji might go on to reach the same level as Gojo. However, for him to surpass Gojo is a reach, and it is unclear if Yuji will ever even reach the heights that he can reach. For now, there is absolutely no way Yuji can defeat Gojo, and the only reason he even defeatedSukuna was that the King of Curseswas already weakened tremendously, and at the same time, he had help from a plethora of sorcerers and could have died a dozen occasions in the battle.
If JJK ever does get a sequel, fans will clearly get an answer to this question, along with seeing how Yuji Itadori grows within the story. However, for now, Gojo remains to be the superior sorcerer of the two.
