Jujutsu Kaisen Kenjaku Taunting US President

Debut Date

July 16, 2025

Kenjaku is an ancient Curse User who may be older than Sukuna, which easily puts him past the 1000-year age bracket. As such, his plan is also almost just as old, as he had been setting the events of the series into motion for over a millennium. Because of this, he is seen as the mastermind behind everything that plays out throughout the series, which also includes therebirth of Sukuna into the modern era.

Kenjaku also took over the identity of Yuji’s mother, Kaori Itadori, and mated with his father in order to birth the perfect vessel for Sukuna to be reborn into the current day. While he may initially seem to be working under Sukuna, this entire thing also worked perfectly for Kenjaku’s plans, as he needed someone as powerful as the King of Curses to initiate the merger in the event of his death.

Megumi tells Itadori and Nobara that he’s okay about Gojo’s letter.

The merger itself revolves around Master Tengen, who is a special being that oversees the protection of the barriers containing Japan’s Cursed Energy. Due to this, she was specifically targeted by Kenjaku to initiate a merger that would fuse all the Cursed Energy and people of Japan into a single, all-powerful Cursed Spirit just to satisfy his curiosity. When Choso and Yuki were eventually defeated, Kenjaku was successful in capturing Tengen.

With Tengen under his control, Kenjaku starts the Culling Game to raise enough Cursed Energy for the merger of Tengen with the human population to take place. However, before the merger could even begin, he was defeated by Yuta and Takaba and control of Tengen eventually went to Sukuna. However, Sukuna himself was eventually defeated by Yuji in Chapter 268, leaving the future of the merger up in the air.

The Current State Of The Merger

Can it Still Happen?

The greatest mystery regarding the merger has to do with its current location. One thing that fans noted about it wasthe fact that Megumi Fushiguro, not Sukuna, was named as the one who gained the authority to initiate the merger upon Kenjaku’s death. This was done because Sukuna had manifested within Megumi’s body, so the ultimate power was given to him.

However, Sukuna finally meets his end in Chapter 268 after a lengthy battle against Yuji and the rest of the forces of Jujutsu High. Since he was the one who was responsible for fulfilling Kenjaku’s plan, the state of the merger remains a mystery as he was defeated before he could ever do it. The most likely theory is that Megumi is still in control of Tengen’s vessel and, theoretically, could complete the merger at any point if he wants to.

It’s a shame to bow out before I finish… but my will will be passed on!

If this turns out to be true, then the threat of the merger is gone since there is no evil character left who would want to see the end of what Kenjaku started. Conversely, another theory is that uponSukuna’s expulsion from Megumi’s body, Tengen’s vessel was expelled too, which could lead to a whole bunch of new possibilities for the future of the franchise.

Although Gege Akutami has made it clear thatJujutsu Kaisenwill end in a total of 271 chapters, this theory makes it possible for there to be a spin-off for the show that may have new heroes who would come together to fight off the all-powerful Cursed Spirit whose existence may have been initiated by a brand-new villain. As for now, though, the series is complete!

Jujutsu Kaisencan be streamed onNetflixandAmazon Prime.
