This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 269.

Summary

Jujutsu Kaisenis incredibly close to its end right now. Fans were shocked by the recent announcement that came not so long ago and suggested that the manga was going to wrap up within five chapters. Since then, three chapters have passed, which means that the story is now down to the last two chapters and is going to wrap up in the next two weeks. AsJJKprepares to wrap up, fans know that there are many plot points that need to be resolved.

For one, fans know for a fact thatJJKhas many untied plot threads that need a proper conclusion. But, on the other hand, fans also know that the remaining two chapters are not enough to tie all the loose ends that the story left behind and that there needs to be some sort of balance provided to both the characters and the overarching themes of the entire series. That is precisely why manyfans wantJJKPart 2 to happen, but whether or not that would make sense remains to be seen.

The Improper End To Sukuna And Kenjaku Arc In JJK

JJK’s two big antagonists, Sukuna and Kenjaku both fell in the Shinjuku Showdown arc. It is safe to say that most fans agree that the ending they got was unsatisfactory. In fact, when it comes to Kenjaku, his ending was incredibly bad. For a villain of his size, Kenjaku should not have gone out the way he did, and it absolutely bamboozled all the fans. Every single reader of the story had majestic hopes for Kenjaku, and the fact that he went out the way he did was truly pathetic. In fact, fans can easily come to the conclusion that Kenjaku’s death was one of the worst ones that any series has delivered to them over the years.

Meanwhile, the strongest sorcerer, Sukuna, went out in a surprising manner as well. Fans fully expected Sukuna to have a better showing against Yuji, and even though he held out resiliently against a plethora of sorcerers in Shinjuku, his ending was not as good as readers hoped for it to be. Sukuna was defeated by Yuji, the protagonist of the series, and he did so using all the newfound abilities that he had. At the same time, fans know that Sukuna was ripped from Megumi’s body and he disintegrated, meaning that he doesn’t seem to have any way to come back. However, if the author wills, Sukuna could return stronger than ever before, because curses return stronger after death. There is certainly hope for Sukuna’s return later down the line, but, for now, fans know for a fact that the King of Curses essentially went out in a very disappointing manner.

Are you listening, Sukuna? It is beginning once again. The world of Heian. The Golden Age of Cursed Techniques! – Kenjaku

Once again, fans knew that the key to the merger, which was entrusted by Kenjakuto Sukuna, could have been called into action and then, an even bigger catastrophe would have befallen the sorcerers. Unfortunately, this plot point was never tackled again in the story, which simply meant that the author decided to scrap it entirely. Of course, this didn’t mean that the story had to have a gloomy ending. The idea was for the sorcerers to reverse the merger somehow and then build a better society, and a world where injustices wouldn’t happen as easily. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and fans know that the merger didn’t even come into existence. This is one of the many reasons why fans want a better ending for the story, and why part 2 is coveted by many.

The Fall of Kenjaku and Sukuna left a sour taste in the mouths of the fans. JJK Part 2 would fix that by either bringing Sukuna back, or, by giving Kenjaku, who could still return through various means, a better ending. At the same time, the merger could be triggered at some point in JJK Part 2 as well, which would mean that there would still be a massive threat, potentially even bigger than Sukuna, waiting for the sorcerers.

The Mystery Of The Three Big Houses

The Three Big Houses Need More Attention

Another incredibly important thing thatJJKnever truly tackled is the mystery behind the three great houses. Fans know that in the world ofJJK, three specific families are the most important. These are the Gojo family, the Kamo family, and the Zenin family. While the Zenin family were certainly focused on quite a bit, it remains a mystery still, even though they were annihilated. Meanwhile, little and less is known about the Gojo and the Kamo clan. It is safe to say that fans would rejoice at seeing them being involved in the story a bit more. At the same time, there are the heads of the sorcerer society, who control things from behind the shadows. These individuals were seen once again inJJKchapter 269, and fans know that any sequel to the series could potentially bring them into the spotlight as well. Once again, JJK chapter 269 went to show that the series has a lot of potential for a sequel, and that the author should focus on it, should he continue writing manga.

JJKchapter 269 also gave fans quite a lot of lore about Tengen. They are a character that fans want the story to focus on, and there aremany mysteries surrounding them that Gege simply did not tackle. While he could simply leave these questions unanswered, it would make for a half-baked story with numerous plot threads untied. That is yet another reason whyJJKpart 2 must happen, and why the series needs fresh blood right now.

The Development Of The Main Cast

The Main Cast Needs More Attention In Jujutsu Kaisen

Quite possibly the biggest reason for JJK part 2 happening would be the development of the main cast of the series. Fans know that Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara are the three main characters of Jujutsu Kaisen. However, given the role that Megumi and Nobara played, they can’t even be called main characters. Nobara was cut out from the vast majority of the story, only to be brought back at the very end, while Megumi was taken over at the most important part of the story, which stripped all his growth from him. JJK’s endingwas incredibly underwhelming for both him and Nobara. This is precisely whyJJKPart 2 needs to happen.

I decided to give living for someone else another shot. – Megumi

These characters need to be at the forefront of things as protagonists and show the world what they are truly capable of. In many ways, the growth for Megumi and Nobara feels unearned. Even Yuji, who trained relentlessly and showcased great growthin the battle against Sukuna, gives off the feeling that he wasn’t fleshed out properly in the final arc.

If JJK were to ever get a sequel series, that is,JJKPart 2, fans would love to see it being focused on them more, and this has to be one of the biggest reasons whyJJKneeds a continuation.
