This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 269.
Summary
Jujutsu Kaisenis edging closer to its conclusion, and the story just has two more chapters left now. The series has already marked the conclusion toits most chaotic arc, that is, Shinjuku Showdown. In this arc, fans got to see an exciting battle between the King of Curses, and the many sorcerers who were dead set on stopping him. Of course, in the entire arc, the biggest battle that fans got to witness was the clash between Gojo and Sukuna.
This was a fight like no other, and it is safe to say that the conclusion to this battle shocked everyone. At the end of it all, Gojo fell and was chopped in half by Sukuna, thanks to him having access to the 10 Shadows Technique. Ever since then, theories about Gojo’s return have been rampant, and, even two chapters away from the conclusion of the series, many fans still believe that Gojo might return, after all.
Yuta And Higuruma’s Survival Has Hints For Gojo’s Return
Yuta Okkotsu finally returned inJJKchapter 269. Just like Gojo, Yuta played a significant role in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. His role was very different to that of Gojo, certainly more complicated. After the defeat of Gojo, Yuta essentially utilized help from Todo and chopped off Kenjaku’s head. He then stabbed the head, and essentially ensured that he died. Then, Yuta returned to the main battlefield, and there fought against Sukuna inside his own domain, and weakened him. Unfortunately, Yuta’s fate was just like that of Gojo. This is precisely why fans knew that the fates of Yuta and Gojo were tied. Essentially, Yuta was split in half, just like Gojo, but in his case, Rika kept him alive until he was transported to the medical unit, where, while his body was dying, Yuta utilized Kenjaku’s technique to jump into Gojo’s body. Then,Yuta utilized his maximum reverse cursed technique inside Gojo’s bodyand essentially brought the body back to life, but with his brain instead. Just by doing that, Yuta raised the chances of Gojo returning dramatically, since he healed the body completely and ensured that cursed energy was flowing through it, which fans know can also be converted to life energy.
Rika Using Reverse Cursed Technique Saved Me. – Yuta Okkotsu
Essentially, Yuta could’ve given Gojo new life by doing this, but, at that time in the story, he was the one inhabiting Gojo’s body, which meant that Gojo could not resurface. However, eventually, Yuta’s technique ran out. Since Yuta did not have a connection to Rika, he was helpless in Gojo’s body, but eventually, with Rika acting as an anchor to the real world in regards to his real body, Yuta was able to return back and inhabit his old body. This essentially means that despite his actual body dying, Yuta was still able to return due to someone using reverse caused technique on his body externally. In other words, this is precisely what he did with Gojo’s body as well. If Yuta managed to survive the World Splitting Dismantle, there is no reason to believe that Gojo couldn’t.
In fact, Yuta wasn’t even the only character who survived the world splitting dismantle. Higuruma, yet another powerful sorcerer, managed to survive this powerful slash as well. In fact, Higuruma was struck by the same attack that Gojo died with, and fans had believed him to be dead. In JJK chapter 269, it was finally confirmed to the fans that Higuruma was alive. As to how he survived the same attack that took down Gojo, fans do not know. He was left in a near-death state but somehow managed to heal himself back to near perfection.Even Kusakabe alludes to his survivalto the fact that he is a genius. Interestingly, his genius nature is said to rival that of Gojo himself. If Higuruma could bring himself back to life using his incredible talent, then Gojo should be able to do the same, all the more so if he had Yuta’s help with reverse cursed technique.
The Mysterious Clock With Specific Time In JJK
Jujutsu Kaisen Is Clearly Hinting At Something
Clearly, there is a basis for Gojo’s return in JJK before it ends. Furthermore, fans know that there is more to it than just Yuta and Higuruma surviving similar attacks that took Gojo down. In JJK chapter 268, fans saw the author throw a lot of focus on clocks in particular. The clock read 1:58 at first, however, more specifically, in JJK chapter 269, the clock read 2:21.This was a very specific number that Gege chose. Fans only need to look back at what JJK chapter 221 was all about, and they have their answer. Essentially, this is the chapter that saw the return of the strongest modern sorcerer, Gojo Satoru, from the Prison Realm. Just like Gojo returned from the Prison Realm, it could be possible that he will return from death this time around, and fans absolutely cannot wait for it. Of course, whether or not this can actually happen remains to be seen. At the very least, readers can say that there is a basis for this coming true, with the author leaving behind hints here and there.
There was absolutely no need for Gege to focus on the clocks in his last few chapters. Clearly, they are there to hint something major happening in the story, and it could be Gojo’s return. To add even more fuel to the fire, absolutely no one acknowledges Gojo’s death. Not even a single character has confirmed the death of Gojo Satoru afterthe events of the Shinjuku Showdown, and, at the same time, information about his body hasn’t been provided to the fans either. There are a lot of things that remain unanswered inJujutsu Kaisenin regards to Gojo, and fans absolutely cannot wait to see what the author does with this particular character later down the line.
Could Gojo Satoru Truly Return?
The Chances For Gojo’s Return Are Slim, But Still There
As to whether Gojo can truly return from the dead or not, the answer certainly lies in a resounding yes. There is basis for Gojo to return, and it certainly makes a lot of sense as well. Whether that is good for the story or bad is an entirely different question altogether. What matters is if Gojo’s return makes sense or not. It would make total sense for Gojo to return from the death, and based on all the clues left behind in the story, and simply by going over how Yuta and Higuruma managed to return from similar injuries, fans know that Gojo’s death isn’t as final as one would think it is. Of course, fans know that they will receive their answer within 2 weeks' time.
Nah, I’d Win! – Gojo Satoru
JJKis now incredibly close to ending, which means that the story could showcase the return of the strongest in the next two chapters, if it ever were to happen. Fans have their eyes peeled for the strongest modern sorcerer, and hope to see him one last time beforeJJKends. Many fans believe that JJK chapter 270 is the one where he will return, especially given that he was introduced in the second chapter, and that he will return in the second to last chapter. These are exciting times for Gojo fans, and they simply need to sit down, relax, and see if Gojo actually does return not.
