InDeadlock, the last thing players want to do is keep standing in the lane with a fraction of their health remaining. It’s a fast-paced game, and your opponents will look to take every bit of advantage they can get. If you’re running around with half your health missing, they’ll look to quickly move in and take you down, earning a big chunk of Souls in the process.

Before you know it, your opponents will get a major Souls lead over you, and you’ll have a hard time competing for last hits, let alone creating kill pressure. To win your lane and come out on top, you’ll need to heal your hero every chance you get. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t go into too much detail abouthow to heal inDeadlock.

How To Heal In Deadlock

Leaving combat kicks in a small amount of natural health regeneration inDeadlock. The health regen amount varies from one hero to another, and Mo & Krill andBebop currently have the highest natural health regenin the game. While natural health regen can come in handy in a tough spot, it isn’t enough to sustain you throughout the laning phase.

Here are all the ways you’re able to heal your hero inDeadlock.

Zipline in Deadlock

Going Back To The Base

The primary way of healing inDeadlockis to ride the Transit line all the way back to the base. By going back to the base, you’ll quickly regain any health you lost in the lane. The biggest downside to this, of course, is thatyou’ll be missing out on Soulsfrom killing enemy Troopers.

Your opponent might also take it as an opportunity to push down the lane and damage your Guardian. You’ll also have to leave your lane partner solo against two enemy heroes. Chances are, your opponents will gang up on your ally and kill them before you get back.

Banner Trooper healing in Deadlock

If you must go back to base, make sure you push out your lane and get a kill on an enemy hero if possible. That way, by the time you get back to the lane, you won’t have to worry about your opponent pressuring your Tower Guardian too much.

Activating Zip Line Boost when you’re returning to the base will help you get back to the lane faster, as the speed boost will still be in effect when you come back.

Healing items in Deadlock

Heal From The Banner Trooper

Troopers are uncontrollable units that walk down each lane, attacking your enemy Troopers and heroes, pushing the lane forward. Each lane spawns a set offour Troopers every 25 seconds. Each set has two Ranged Troopers, one Melee Trooper, and a Banner Trooper.

If you’d rather not ride the transit line back home, stay near your Banner Trooper when you’re low on health. The Banner Trooper releases a short burst of healing every six seconds that heals all nearby allied units. For heroes, the heal is40 HP, which is pretty low on the grand scale, but it’s still enough to give you a small health boost during the laning phase.

Bullet Lifesteal in Deadlock

When one of the Tower Guardians falls, the laning phase officially ends, and the healing amount from Banner Troopers increases to 80 for heroes.

Buying Healing Items

One of the biggest things that setsDeadlockapart fromother hero shooters likeOverwatchis the ability to buy items for your heroes. By accessing theCuriosity Shopfrom your base or the lane, you’ll be able to buy items using Souls that boost your hero’s damage, attack speed, and health. There are also items that can enhance your health regeneration and give you passive or active healing.

Conversely,Headhunteris a viable healing item for slow-hitting heroes as it will heal for8%of your maximum HP on every headshot you land on the enemy hero. But it’s a tier-3 item that will cost you3,000 Soulsto purchase.

Rescue Beam can be used to save alliescaught under crowd-control effectsby pulling them towards you during the channeling period.

Buying Lifesteal Items

Other than the healing items in the game, players can also pick up lifesteal items that siphon health from the enemies based on the damage dealt. Similar to healing items, you’ll need to buy them from the shop. There are plenty of lifesteal items available inDeadlock, so verify you browse through the Curiosity Shop when you’re setting up a build for your hero.

Lifesteal items are primarily divided into three categories:Spirit Lifesteal, Bullet Lifesteal, and Melee Lifesteal.

You’ll want to first determine which type of damage your hero specializes in before choosing a lifesteal item for your build.

Using Healing Abilities

Deadlockcurrently features21 heroes that you can choose from, each with their own unique abilities and item builds. Some of these heroes have built-in healing abilities that can be used to heal themselves or even their allies. For instance,Abrams’s Siphon Life abilitydrains health from enemy heroes and Troopers within a certain range until the effect expires. This ability allows Abrams to play more aggressively in all stages of the game. However, he hasno way to heal his allies.

McGinnis, however, can deploy a healing spirit with herMedicinal Specterability that provides25 Health Regenper second to all her allies in a specific radius. The healing effect gets further amplified when you push it to the maximum level.

Some heroes also have abilities that grant bullet or spirit lifesteal to their allies. While it’s not the same as the direct healing that Abrams or McGinnis have, it’s still a great way to get back some of your lost health. So,players should experiment with different heroesto see which healing ability they like the most.

Deadlockis in early development and is subject to regular changes and updates. The final release of the game might feature new abilities and items that boost healing both in the laning phase and later stages of the game.
