Traversal inSatisfactoryis a problem, and one that the game is more than happy to solve, considering the amount of tools it allows players to get their hands onto that can help with moving faster. Starting from theBlade Runnersall the way to the hypertube railcannon, there are tons of items to make getting around the map faster, easier, and more efficient.

One of the traversal tools that players may not realize how to unlock is the Zipline, a hand-held item that can allow players to repurpose their power grid for their own benefit. Here is how Ziplines work and how to get them.

How to Unlock Ziplines in Satisfactory

The Zipline is a tool similar to the Xeno-Zapper that allows players to use power lines as a traversal aid by attaching themselves to the line and zipping across. The ability to craft Ziplines is locked behind a node in theCaterium Ore technology tree in the MAM. If all preceding tech nodes are unlocked, players will need the following items to unlock Ziplines.

After the Zipline are unlocked inSatisfactory, it can be crafted at an Equipment Workshop using the following materials.

How to Use Zipline in Satisfactory

After it has been crafted, equip the Zipline tool in your hand slot from the inventory menu. Aim at a power line within jumping distance andpress LMB(Left Mouse Button). The Zipline tool will activate and snap onto the power line, dragging the player along the wiring. When the power line reaches a power pole, the tool will come loose. It can be used again with no downtime. Unlike the Chainsaw, Ziplines do not require any fuel.

Ziplines don’t follow the laws of gravity. Both upward and downward movement along a zipline is the same.

How to Find Caterium Ore in Satisfactory

The ability to scan for Caterium Ore inSatisfactoryunlocks well into the mid game after players have reachedTier 5 and completed thePetroleum Power Milestone. However, it is possible to obtain Caterium Ore before reaching this point by finding it through regular exploration. Feeding 10 pieces of Caterium Ore into the MAM will allow players to unlock the ability to scan for Caterium Ore.

Unfortunately, Caterium deposits are difficult to find without a scanner. They are almost always located on top of tall cliffs, typically places that can only be accessed by using a Jumping Pad or a Jetpack. Luckily, these deposits aren’t exclusive to dangerous biomes and are evenly distributed around the map.
