Despite not being the final act, there is plenty of great loot to be found in Act 2 ofBaldur’s Gate 3, including Armor for all classes and builds. From robes and clothing to Light, Medium, and Heavy Armor, there is something for everyone, and the best Act 2 Armor is capable of serving players for the rest of the game.
While Armor Class (AC) is one of the most important stats to look at, as this determines the number that enemies must roll in order to hit, it’s not the only factor to bear in mind. The unique effects of Armor and Clothing are often what makes them stand out above the rest. Lastly, players will also want to know where to findthe best Act 2 Armor inBG3.

When players reach the game’s second Act, they will need the best defensive gear, especially if they are playing one ofBG3’s harder difficulties. As such, this list has been updated to showcase more of the best Act 2 Armor in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Effects
For those playing as Barbarians,The Mighty Clothis arguably the best option for Act 2, and a few other classes or builds may also benefit from the +2 Strength. Beyond this incredible buff, this item of Clothing also stops the wearer from being pushed and gives them a better chance to avoid being Restrained.
Last of all, the Bull Rush ability allows players to get out of sticky situations or potentially push enemies to their deaths. Best of all, however, is the fact that The Mighty Cloth can be purchased pretty much out of the gate when starting Act 2. This is because it is sold at the Last Light Inn by Quartermaster Talli.
In terms of AC for Light Armor, theStudded Leather Armour +2is a pretty great option in Act 2 and for most of Act 3 for that matter. Taking 1 less Bludgeoning damage is always going to be a nice bonus, but much more importantly wearers of the Armor also gain an increase to their Initiative, meaning they are more likely to have their turn before others in combat.
Getting to attack and potentially even finish off an enemy before they can strike, is one of the most decisive elements in tough battles. To obtain the Studded Leather Armor +2, players will first need to reach Level 9, which means clearing most of the map to get enough XP. It will then be sold by merchants. If players tick over to Level 9 and it doesn’t appear in their stock, a Long Rest should put it right.

As its name suggests,Flawed Helldusk Armourmay not be the best in the game. However, it is nevertheless great for Act 2, and as it is available from the get-go, players will get good use out of it. On top of high AC, this Heavy Armor also has a chance to fight back with Fire damage when enemies attack from within a short distance.
To get this armor, players will need tofind Infernal Ironand take it to Dammon at the Last Light Inn. He is capable of crafting this chest piece as well asFlawed Helldusk Glovesand theFlawed Helldusk Helmet. One piece of Infernal Iron is needed for each of these in turn. As players might also want to use Infernal Iron to help Karlach, they will want five in total. Three for crafting armor and two for Karlach across Acts 1 and 2.
For those who use Charisma, such as Bards, Warlocks, and Sorcerers, thePotent Robeis arguably the best Clothing in Act 2. This robe will not only maketheir Cantripsdeal more damage, but they will also gain Temporary HP. Both of these bonuses are based on the character’s Charisma Modifier, making investment in Charisma even more efficient.
To get thePotent Robe, players will need to complete the Rescue the Tieflings quest, which involves breaking them out of the prisons in Moonrise Towers, and helping them to safety. Players can then talk to Alfira at the Last Light Inn to receive the robe as a reward. Saving the Tieflings from captivity is also part of one ofBG3’shardest achievements, where all Tieflings from the Emerald Grove must be kept alive throughout the entire game.
12 + Dexterity Modifier
Stealthier:While Obscured, the wearer gains a +3 bonus to Stealth Checks.
Wearers ofLight Armor inBaldur’s Gate 3often include Rogues and Rangers, who will both lovePenumbral Armour, which is found early on in Act 2. It grants a massive +3 bonus to Stealth Checks when Obscured, allowing these characters to move around in the shadows to gain a vantage point in combat or bypass guards.
As large swathes of the Shadow-Cursed Lands are covered in darkness, it is the perfect option for Act 2. To find thePenumbral Armor, players will want to head east from the Last Light Inn, until they come to an abandoned house by the river. It can be found inside a locked chest.
If players are looking forthe best Medium Armorin Act 2 ofBG3, thenYuan-Ti Scale Mailis a great option, especially as it is accessible from the very beginning. It has a good base AC of 15, but thanks to Exotic Material, players are able to add their full Dexterity Modifier, instead of this being capped at 2.
A +1 to Initiative Rolls also means players are more likely to have their turn earlier in combat, which should not be overlooked given that some enemies can be killed before they even take a turn.Yuan-Ti Scale Mailcan be bought from Quartermaster Talli at the Last Light Inn.

If players are looking for the best Armor tousein Act 2, theReaper’s Embraceis not for them, as it is acquired right at the end. Nevertheless, it is the best armor found in Act 2, and indeed one of thebest pieces of Heavy Armor in all ofBaldur’s Gate 3. On top of its impressive AC of 19 and reducing all damage by 2, the fact that the wearer can’t be moved against their will is a huge boon.
By making enemies Numb withHowl of the Dead, the wearer will also have Advantage against these targets who can’t move as far. As mentioned previously, players obtainReaper’s Embraceat the end of Act 2, as long as they don’t forget to loot Ketheric Thorm’s body after defeating him for a second time. It can then be worn by one party member for the rest of the game, given how strong it is and how great it looks.
