After completing Phase 1 inSatisfactoryby finally building the Space Elevator, ADA, FICSIT’s handler will task players to start making deliveries of certain rare materials to the Elevator.

The item required to complete the very first Space Elevator delivery is 50 units of Smart Plating, an item that players will not have encountered until this point. Smart Plating cannot be crafted at a Crafting Bench like Iron Plates or Copper Wire, which might result in some confusion about how to get it.

While there are many ways to streamline this, the following can be used as a starting point.

Traditionally, by this point in the game, players will already have set up previous automations to create everything from simple Copper Wires to Reinforced Iron Plates to Rotors. If this is indeed the case,it is simple to connect the Smart Plating production to existing automations.

Build an Assembler near where you’reproducing Iron Platesand Screws and use it to produce Reinforced Iron Plates. Build another Assembler and feed it Iron Rods and Screws to get Rotors. Connect both of these outputs to another Assembler to create Smart Plating.

The great thing aboutSatisfactoryis that dismantling existing structures doesn’t have any downsides. This encourages experimentation with build setting and different build setups. Don’t be afraid to completely uproot your existing production line if it gets messy and convoluted. Recreating it somewhere else has literally no downsides.
