The only reliable way to heal inWitchfireis to consume a spherical capsule called a health elixir. It regenerates health points over time and removes any elemental effects or ailments. However, everyone starts with only one health potion, which is not enough once you start exploring higher-difficulty maps or upgrading your Gnosis levels. This is especially true for playersnew to rogue-lite gamessinceWitchfirecarries a certain degree of challenge.
Fortunately, you canincrease the number of slots to carry more health elixirsinWitchfire. It requires time and effort but is relatively easy compared to how the main character progression works in the game. Here is what you do.
How to Get More Healing Elixirs in Witchfire
The only way to unlock more healing elixir slots is tolevel up inWitchfire. You automatically get to carry an extra healing elixirafter your Preyer reaches a specific character level. You do not have to research anything from the Workshop, upgrade any specific stat at the Ascension Shrine, or perform any feat of strength on a map. Strangely enough, the game offers no prompts; so you will likely be surprised to start a new expedition with more healing elixirs without knowing when (or how) you got them.
You cancarry a maximum of five healing elixirsinWitchfire. Below are the current elixir level requirements that must be met for each slot. These were originally much higher and were changed in the past few updates. The higher ones are estimates and will be updated once I confirm them by leveling up.
5 Elixirs
Level 50
“Bonus Elixir” is an Arcana upgrade thatadds an extra elixir slotinWitchfire. This allows you to exceed the maximum number of carried elixirs. However, the Arcana only works for the current expedition. It is lost upon death or after returning to the Hermitorium through an extraction portal.
How to Pull More Elixirs From the Apothecary Stash
The Apothecary is where youcraft more healing elixirs inWitchfire, and automatically store them in your Hermitorium stash. Something important to note is that you cannot manage the stash like your inventory, but you alwaystake as many healing elixirs as you may carry from your stashwhen starting a new expedition.
This is an automated system that could be explained better for the benefit ofnewWitchfireplayers. If you notice that you have fewer elixirs than you can carry, it means your stash is empty. Head back and craft more elixirs using Angelica herbs to replenish your stock.
