Summary

Though a handful of MMOs and RPGs have technically come before it,Star Wars Outlawsis one of the few proper open-world games based on the beloved Galaxy Far, Far Away. There are five fully explorable planets inStar Wars Outlaws, and each one is packed to the brim with exciting Easter eggs and references to the franchise’s past. Some of these references will be immediately obvious to long-timeStar Warsfans, such as Tatooine’s Mos Eisley Cantina, but some are a bit more subtle.

One ofStar Wars Outlaws' more subtle references revolves around a character that was originally introduced inthe animatedStar Wars Rebelsshow. This Easter egg is hiding in plain sight, but even some die-hard fans might not recognize it right away.

How Star Wars Outlaws Pays Homage to Sabine Wren

Who Is Sabine Wren?

First introduced in aStar Wars Rebelsanimated short that was released a month before the show’s first season in October 2014, Sabine Wren is a Mandalorian bounty hunter-turned-foundingmember of the Rebel Alliance. Sabine appears in all four seasons ofStar Wars Rebels, and co-stars alongside the rest of the Ghost Crew in over 70 episodes. Sabine acts as one of the group’s best warriors, capable of wielding just about any weapon and piece of tech. Sabine has a penchant for explosives and often mixes her talent for art with her rebellious work.

Sabine Wren comes into possession ofthe mysterious Darksaberafter Maul’s defeat inStar Wars Rebels. Sabine eventually decides to relinquish command of the Darksaber over to Bo-Katan Kryze, who uses it to try and unite the Mandalorians against their Imperial oppressors. Sabine Wren became an even more prominent character with last year’sAhsokaDisney+ show, in which it’s revealed that the titular former Jedi briefly trained the Mandalorian in the ways of the Force.

Star Wars Outlaws' Hutt Cartel Rewards Reference Sabine Wren’s Armor

Sabine Wren might not be the most well-known Mandalorian in theStar Warsgalaxy, but she’s certainly a fan-favorite character for some, and those fans are sure to loveStar Wars Outlaws’Hutt Cartel rewards. InStar Wars Outlaws, four of the game’s criminal syndicates are tied to a Reputation system. If the player completes jobs for certain syndicates, their relationship with them increases. If the player continues to increase their standing with a criminal syndicate, they’ll earn various in-game rewards, from cheaper vendor rates in controlled regions to new blaster and speeder parts.

Eachcriminal syndicate inStar Wars Outlawsalso rewards the player with a unique gear set upon reaching their max Reputation level. The Hutt Cartel’s unlockable gear set looks remarkably similar to Sabine Wren’s Beskar armor. Named the “Boonta Brawler” set, these cosmetics feature a purple and orange color scheme that’s very similar to Sabine’s. This coloring has also seemingly been applied with spray paint, which is Sabine’s signature artistic flair.

Much likeStar Wars Outlaws' other gear sets, thisSabine-inspired Boonta Brawler outfitgrants players some unique gameplay benefits. The Boonta Brawler Jacket increases pick-up weapon ammo capacity and reduces damage taken from blasters and projectile weapons. The Boonta Brawler Belt increases grenade capacity and increases the explosion radius of thrown grenades. And the Boonta Brawler Pants reduce damage taken while sprinting and reduces damage taken from explosions. Equipping all three pieces of gear will greatly increase the Adrenaline players gain from defeating enemies.
