Throne and Libertyhas a lot of moving parts when it comes to progressing a character. There aremany weapons to choose betweenthat will affect your playstyle, skills to assignto these weapons, and, of course, upgrading your skillsto make them more effective.

A lot of skills, both active and passive, will be locked behind level requirements. These can be as low as level 3 and as high as the maximum level of 50. Once unlocked, players will be able to slot them into their loadout. However, these skills will not get stronger on their own and will require somespecial items to upgrade.

What Do You Need To Upgrade Skills In Throne And Liberty?

In order to upgrade a skill, you will need aSkill Growth Book. These books come in two forms;Active Skill Growth Book for your active skills andPassive Skill Growth Bookfor your passive skills — these books also come in different rarities.

Your skills will start at Common rarity, and as they are upgraded to higher values, will eventually also become a greater rarity. When a skill changes to a higher rarity, its value will reset. There are five ranks to reach the next rarity, and it will become harder to progress a skill up to its next rarity compared to the previous upgrade.

This means only a result of Special will push the skill by 1 entire level. Luckily, any overflow will be applied to thenext skill upgrade. This is very similar to how this mechanic works when playersupgrade their gear.

Players should aim to get all the skills they need to the same level of rarity rather than focus on getting one skill to Epic. This is because it will lead to a more balanced character that can perform their playstyle consistently. Players need to balance out their offensive capability with survivability in order to overcome every challenge ahead. Having lopsided skills might make higher-level fights lopsided and difficult due to a weak point in a player’s playstyle.

Swapping Skills

Players will be familiar withswapping between their weapons, but doing so with skills is a far more arduous ordeal. In addition to the Level Up tab, there is also a Swap tab. To find this tab, players will need to first open up their skills section, select the skill, and select Skill Growth. Now they will see the Swap Tag next to Level up on the Enchant Skill page.

This will let a player take the skills from a weapon they no longer wish to use and move them over to a different choice. Players should not worry about picking the wrong weapon, or leveling up the wrong skills. However, this will require a Skill Conversion Book each time, and repeatedly doing this can eat up a lot of resources that could be better spent elsewhere.

Skill Specializations In Throne And Liberty

Just likeknowing which Stats will be importantfor a build, so too will theSkill Specializationschosen. Once a player has hit level 15, they will gain access to Skill Specializations. Players will start with 10skill specialization points, but will then get 2 more skill specialization points for every level up until level 30. At this point, they will then gain 3 skill specialization points for every level up to the maximum level of 50. This comes to a total of one hundred skill specialization points.

Players can apply these by going to the Skills section, and then to the Skipp Specializations tab. If players are not happy with their choices of where they have allocated their points. They will be able to relocate these points any time they wish.
