This time skip would allow the player to take control of a new Hogwarts student as they encounter new threats and explore a slightly different Hogwarts Castle and grounds. But more importantly, this time skip would also allow the original game’s protagonist to appear in an all-new role.
Hogwarts Legacy 2could put the original protagonist in the role of a teacher at Hogwarts. Essentially imitatingthe role of Professor Fig, the originalHogwarts Legacyprotagonist could help the new player-character through their studies, and accompany them on a few story quests, where they aid the player in battle using spells and abilities they unlocked in the first game.
This decision to make the first game’s protagonist a teacher inHogwarts Legacy 2would make even more sense if Ancient Magic returned as a major plot point of the sequel. With Ancient Magic users being so rare, it would make sense for the original game’s protagonist to guide the new player-character as they learn more about this rare power they’ve inherited.The firstHogwarts Legacydid a pretty great job of delivering fan-service that had a purpose, and this decision to make the original protagonist a professor would be no different.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 Could Go Above and Beyond By Transferring Save Data
Hogwarts Legacy 2could deliver the ultimate piece of fan-service if it transferred over the player’s save data from the firstHogwarts Legacy, and used it to inform the protagonist-turned-professor’s portrayal in the sequel. For instance,Hogwarts Legacy 2could use the player’s save data to determine the professor’s appearance. IfHogwarts Legacy 2really wanted to go above and beyond, it could get the same two voice actors to reprise their roles in the hypothetical sequel, and use the player’s save data to determine and carry forward the specific pitch they applied to those voices in the first game.
