However, Hideo Kojima has recently talked about his high hopes forOD.
In an interview withVarietyabout theDeath Strandingmovie, developer Hideo Kojima briefly addressed his next horror project,OD. “I wanted to do something new that wasn’tDeath Stranding, so I teamed up with Microsoft to createOD. This is a game, but it’s a game like no other,” said Kojima. “I can’t go into too much detail, and it’s also hard to explain, but it’s a bit risky and a new challenge for me within the realm of games.” There were already some conjectures aboutODpushing the boundaries of gaming, but now it seems Kojima himself cannot define how non-traditionalODwill be.
Hideo Kojima Teases OD and Other Projects
Kojima also revealed how he came to work with Jordan Peele. As he shared with Variety, Kojima once did a podcast episode onNopeand found out that Peele was a fan of his. They then set up a Zoom call and Kojima offered Peele to join him in the development ofOD.

Aside from his statement onOD, the Kojima Productions leader also teased another game named “Physint.” According to Kojima,Physintis an espionage title still in the early concept stage. But just like withOD, this is likely as much as players will know about the project for the time being. Kojima Productions is committed toreleasingDeath Strandingin 2025, soODmight not be its top priority at the moment.
Several rumors have surroundedODfor a while now, including the speculations of it being a multiplayer experience.ODhas also been compared toP.T., Kojima’s legendary demo for aSilent Hillproject that never saw the light of day.
