The harder Hero mode is designed to challenge players as Zelda will take 2x damage from any hit and hearts that replenish health won’t drop in the wild. This means players have to rely on avoiding as many enemy attacks as possible, or by finding other means of restoring Zelda’s health. The image that accompanies Nintendeal’s post also confirms that Hero mode will deactivate some of theeffects of Zelda’s accessories and equipmentduring the playthrough.

Echoes of Wisdom Has Hero Mode Unlocked From the Start

This change marks a departure from previousZeldagames, where players could unlock the tougherNew Game Plus modeonce the main campaign had been completed. Once players finishedBreath of the Wild, they were given access to Master Mode. Upon starting this option, the gamer’s progress is reset and tougher enemies such as the White Lynel are set loose in the opening plateau.

News of Hero Mode being unlocked from the get-go is just the latest information that fans are excited about. It was recently confirmed thatEchoes of Wisdomwill have Amiibo supportand players will soon be able to get their hands on some older figures. Nintendo will reprint both Zelda fromWind WakerAmiibo and Link fromLink’s AwakeningAmiibo when the game is released on September 26. When scanned intoEchoes of Wisdom, these figures will give gamers access to new outfits and items throughout Zelda’s headline adventure.
