When players first begin their journey throughGundam Breaker 4, they will likely find themselves flooded with new parts after each mission. Parts will begin to roll at higher levels and rarities as players progress further through the story, and for a while, it’s likely that their mech will look like a strange abomination of random parts as players try to keep their power level appropriate for the slowly scaling difficulty found in the Main Story. This is because players won’t have the opportunity to upgrade their parts until reaching a specific story mission, and it can be difficult to chip through some of the harder enemies and bosses found in the story with base level gear.

Thankfully, once players reach a particular spot in the Main Story, they’ll unlock the ability to upgrade both the level and rarity of their gear, making it possible for them to craft their ownGundam Breaker 4builds that adhere to their particular play style. Here’s a look at how to level up parts and increase their rarity inGundam Breaker 4.

How To Upgrade Part Level And Rarity In Gundam Breaker 4

Unfortunately, players will notgain access to upgrade their Part Level and Rarity until after they complete Chapter 3. This means they will have to embark on (and finish)approximately 15 Main Story quests to unlock the ability to upgrade. Once players complete Chapter 3, they will be taught how to use the Synthesis feature, which allows them to use old parts for experience to increase the level of any parts they wish to strengthen. Synthesis will also give players the ability to move certain perks and buffs from one piece of armor and place it onto another. This is the main crux of crafting and upgrading in Gundam Breaker 4, allowing players to eventually create their own perfect Gunpla design by giving them access to specific stats that adhere to their playstyle while also maintaining a chosen physical appearance for their Gundam.

Those just looking to upgrade a specific part without having to worry about synthesizing down old materials canmake use of special Plastic parts that are used specifically to upgrade Level and Rarity of a given part. These Plastic bits come in two flavors, Parts Enhance for increasing level and Parts Evolve for increasing rarity. These items are found during certain missions and game modes and can be used to upgrade parts quickly without worrying about amassing a bunch of lower-level and undesirable parts. There are different types of Parts Enhance and Parts Evolve, denoted by a roman numeral next to the name. The harder the mission, the more likely players are to find higher-rarity Plastic pieces.

Plastic will drop organically from enemies once players make it past Chapter 3, but there are different game modes that will allow players to better farm plastic, like Survival Mode, which is unlocked after completing Chapter 6.
