Summary
AGrand Theft Auto Onlineplayer has experienced an odd glitch that made their character look like they were running in one of theSpider-Man Spider-Versemovies. The source of the odd moment inGTA Onlineis unclear, but it’s quite amusing to see.
GTA Onlinehas added a new anti-cheat system called BattlEye in a recent update, in an effort to crack down on the long-standing cheating and hacking problem in the game. Unfortunately, instituting BattlEye meansGTA Onlineno longer works on the Steam Deck, frustrating some players. However, it’s not clear if this particular bug has anything to do with the recent update, as the player is on the Xbox Series X, not a PC.
GTA Onlineplayer Benebs- shared the moment where their character started to glitch out, looking like their run cycle was inInto the Spider-Verseinstead of inGTA. The gameplay clip starts when the game is glitching, with the player effectively outside the world, before they pop into theGTA OnlineCar Meet. However, it quickly becomes obvious that something is unusual, as their character’s run cycle freezes every few frames, making it look like something out of a stop-motion film. The player joked that they didn’t know the game had instituted an 8-bit update, while others mused that it looked likeSpider-Verseor something out ofMinecraft.
How Did This GTA Online Glitch Happen?
According to the OP, they were driving another player to the Car Meet in a public lobby. However, the loading time for theLos Santos Car Meetwent on much longer than usual, and their character fell through the map a few times before the running glitch started. Weirdly enough, the gameplay clip shows that some NPCs are moving similarly to the player, while others' animations appear to be completely smooth. After restarting the game, everything was back to normal.
FellowGTA Onlineplayers have marveled at the weird scene with amusement and some thoughts. One fan said that after over 2000 hours in the game, they had never seen anything like this, but another claimed that they experienced the same bug at the Car Meet. Leaving the Car Meet reportedly fixed the issue. While it’s a good thing that the bug isn’t inescapable, both impacted players seemed disappointed that the glitch didn’t last longer. Several players actually thought it would be interesting to see it incorporated into the game, perhaps as an alternate walking style. Thankfully, this is far from one of theworst bugs inGTA Onlineto impact players.
