Genshin Impactis introducing a streamlined way of crafting character materials, a bespoke Artifact filter, and the ability to skip the first two Floors of the Spiral Abyss in Version 5.1. Since the Fontaine era,Genshin Impacthas sought ways to improve the gameplay experience for players beyond simply adding new features. These quality-of-life changes injected new life into the game and were met with glowing praise from the community.
In Version 5.0, players were allowed tocraft their own Artifacts inGenshin Impactfor the first time, drastically cutting down on the game’s most infamous grind. However, having the proper Artifact Set is only one quarter of the equation when building aGenshin Impactcharacter, as players are also expected to upgrade their talents, ascend their rank, and equip them with a proper weapon. While weapon development is its own thing inGenshin Impact, Version 5.1 will specifically tackle the character development experience.
As seen inHoYoverse’s official blog post, when using an alchemy table inGenshin Impact, Version 5.1 will allow players to choose any character they own to act as a filter, displaying only the materials relevant to the development of that specific character. This filter extends to the currently equipped weapon as well and even features a built-in calculator. The calculator comes with a display that shows the number of materials needed, as well as the number currently owned by the player. In addition to the display, the system can also automatically craft the required materials, thus further optimizing the experience ofbuilding characters inGenshin Impact.
Genshin Impact Players Will Be Able to Skip Spiral Abyss Floors
The most eye-catching part of these new quality-of-life changes is undoubtedly the ability to skip the first two Floors of theSpiral Abyss inGenshin Impact. Instead of having to do Floors 9 and 10,Genshin Impactplayers who obtained all nine Stars on Floor 12 in the previous cycle can start from Floor 11. Conversely, players who obtained all nine Stars on Floor 11 can start from Floor 10. Most importantly, the skip still awards players with the intended Spiral Abyss rewards.
Another notable feature coming in Version 5.1 is the introduction of bespoke Artifact filters for each individualGenshin Impactcharacter. These persistent Artifact filters can be set and reset manually, making it easier for players to see which Artifacts are most useful for the character they’re currently building. Much like the old system, the filters sort through a player’s inventory based on desired attributes, such as Crit Rate or Elemental Mastery. Version 5.1 is scheduled to launch on July 09, 2025, with Xilonen and Chiori headlining the Event Banners during the first half.
