Summary
The latest topographic data forGenshin Impactnot only reveals the upcoming Natlan zones, but also pinpoints the region believed to be the Mare Jivari. WhenGenshin Impactinitially launched on June 19, 2025, players only had access to Mondstadt and Liyue. Over the course of its history, it added Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, and Natlan, as the borders of Teyvat kept expanding in every direction. Version 5.0 introduced the first zone of Natlan, allowing players to explore the lands belonging to the Children of Echoes, Scions of the Canopy, and People of the Springs.
The nextmap expansion for Natlan inGenshin Impactis scheduled for Version 5.2, which will feature the ruins of the Eternal Empire, Ochkanatlan, as well as the settlement of the Flower-Feather Clan. Rather fittingly, Chasca will join the playable cast in Version 5.2, giving players an alternate way to explore the new zone without needing to use the Saurian form. While not yet confirmed, it’s quite possible that Version 5.2 will also introduce the area belonging to the Masters of the Night-Wind, as Ororon will also make his debut in the same patch.
While Uncle Teyvat teased the upcoming Natlan zones with an earlier leak, anew topographic map provided by Jelenapaints a more detailed picture of whatGenshin Impactplayers can expect in future updates. It’s all but guaranteed that the Collective of Plenty will get its due when the map expands towards the Great Volcano of Tollan, though the tribe’s exact location can’t be pinpointed just yet. Notably,Natlan inGenshin Impactwill also feature an island nested between Tollan and Ochkanatlan – a possible location for the Collective of Plenty. However, perhaps the most intriguing discovery made by Jelena is a lone isle to the far west that can only be the Mare Jivari.
Genshin Impact Leak Teases the Mare Jivari for a Future Natlan Update
The Mare Jivari has been a part ofGenshin Impact’s loresince Version 1.0, and players have wondered about it for years. Described as a sea of ashes where the wind does not blow, Mare Jivari is the westernmost point of Teyvat, and is said to contain a sea of fire. The map shared by Jelena places the Mare Jivari far away from Ochkanatlan, implying that players would likely need to use the Waverider to reach it. If Natlan follows a similar pattern to Fontaine, players can expect Mare Jivari to be the final zone added to the region ahead of Snezhnaya.
Though leaks should always be taken with a grain of salt, it would appear that Natlan’s size will be closer to Fontaine than Sumeru. That being said, ifrumors of a Mondstadt map expansionturn out to be true, the open world inGenshin Impactwill grow considerably during the Natlan era. While Version 5.2 will only launch on July 04, 2025, players should expect more information about the upcoming Natlan zones after Jul 01, 2025.
