A recent datamine inGenshin Impactshows that Xilonen’s exploration abilities will be severely limited, and that players should temper their expectations concerning the upcoming 5-Star Geo character. While most players tend to build characters for the Spiral Abyss inGenshin Impact, it always pays to have a tailor-made team for the overworld as well. Climbing cliffs and sprinting across long distances can be a tedious affair, and having certain characters such as Wanderer or Yelan can be of great benefit.
Though theNatlan characters inGenshin Impactare defined by their Nightsoul’s Blessing, they are also tied by having exploration abilities fueled by Phlogiston. However, this comes with an important caveat. While they are unparalleled for exploring the region of Natlan, the wider world of Teyvat lacks Phlogiston, and thus severely limits the duration of their abilities.

While players are excited about her overall ability kit, Xilonen’s rollerblades will only last for 2 seconds outside Natlan before incurring a cooldown. This makes her a direct downgrade from Yelan, whose Elemental Skill has a 3-second duration, and can effectively be doubled with the first Constellation. However, where Xilonen truly shines is (rather ironically) using her rollerblades to scale the cliffside. For the purposes of climbing, her Elemental Skill lasts 6 seconds, and can be increased to 20 seconds with Phlogiston.
Xilonen’s Nightsoul Exploration Ability
Xilonen is an upcoming Geo character inGenshin Impact, and the community is excited about her potential to be a universal 5-Star Support. In terms of what she brings to the table, Xilonen can best be described as a Geo Kazuha that can heal, with an extremely desirable second Constellation. She is expected to draw plenty of interest from Neuvillette and Navia players, and will feature on theEvent Banners inGenshin Impactduring the first half of Version 5.1.
While her unique sprint leaves much to be desired outside Natlan, it could be argued that her role in the overworld favors vertical rather than horizontal travel. After all,Yelan inGenshin Impactcannot use her Elemental Skill to climb walls or cliffs – a weakness that Xilonen does not possess. However, given that no rule forbids players from having Xilonen and Yelan on the same team, an argument could be made that keeping things balanced benefits all characters inGenshin Impact.
