Developed by 10:10 Games,Funko Fusionisn’t the popular, big-eyed collectible brand’s first foray into the world of video games, but it is no doubt its biggest.Masters of the Universe,Jurassic World,Five Nights at Freddy’s, and more – there is a lot for fans to dig into in this game.

But while the focus has mostly on how the developers can successfully combine their experience adapting popular licenses to the interactive medium and the Funko personality, no one has forgotten about why many fans are drawn to the game in the first place. Funko Pops! are the bread and butter, andFunko Fusionwill have its own line to support the upcoming game.

funko fusion unboxing

We got hands on the complete Wave 1 ofFunko FusionPops to see them up close and personal. Funko has delivered a wide swath of characters for this (presumably) first run of Pops, while also leveraging some of its different design styles as well. It’s a perfect snapshot of thetype of mash-up thatFunko Fusionaims to provide.

Funko Fusion Pops Include Chase Variants and Codes

In true Funko Pop! tradition, there are a few special surprises for theFunko Fusioncollectibles. Some Pops have a 1-in-6 Chase Variant that has been Eddi-fied - corrupted by the villainous Eddy Funko from the game. As Chase Variants, these Pops have a different color scheme and some design changes.

Alongside the Chase Variants, theFunko FusionPops come with a redeemable code for an in-game item. The redemption site is not live yet, so we don’t know what item is included with each Pop but you have to assume they tie in to that character’s property.

Cylon fromBattlestar Galactica(Funko Pop! #998)

The originalBattlestar GalacticaCylons are among the most iconic sci-fi creations. These Pops capture the spirit of the Cylons’ battle to eradicate humanity, with a tiny Funko skull under the right boot. There is a Chase Variant version of the Funko Fusion Cylon Pop as well, which has been Eddi-fied with the pinkish color scheme and the veins coming from its visor and chest plate.

Simon Pegg gets two different Pops based on characters from his popular Edgar Wright collaborations. First up is Shaun fromShaun of the Dead, sporting his signature white shirt, red tie, and nametag combo along with a bloody cricket bat. TheFunko FusionPop has a fun little, twisted toe pose so it comes with a clear base to verify it stands up properly.

Nicholas Angel fromHot Fuzz(Funko Pop! #997)

The other Simon Pegg character getting the Funko Fusion Pop treatment is Nicholas Angel fromHot Fuzz. This Pop is equipped with the full arsenal seen briefly towards the end of the film and comes with a stand to keep him suspended mid-dive with guns drawn. If only he could shoot his guns in the air and scream “Aaaaah.”

He-Man from Masters of the Universe (Funko Pop! #1006)

10:10 Games’ Arthur Parsons citedMasters of the Universeas one of the properties he was most excited to work with onFunko Fusion, so it only makes sense that He-Man get a Pop!. With Power Sword drawn and some cool lightning effects coming off it, the He-Man Pop looks plenty cool. It also has an Eddi-fied Chase Variant that once again has a purple color scheme and corrupted eyes.

M3GAN fromM3GAN(Funko Pop! #1001)

If there was any doubt that Funko Fusion is a potpourri of Universal properties, theM3GANPop is proof that this game dug deep. For this collectible, Funko has chosen the version ofM3GAN that has already gone a little haywire, is beginning to show her internal components, and is out for blood. She starts off a little more palatable in the game, but here her motivations have been revealed.

R.J. Macready fromThe Thing(Funko Pop! #993)

Macready fromThe Thingis a character you might not expect to see as a Funko Pop or inFunko Fusion, but it’s a really cool addition regardless. He’s got the classic flamethrower with a little translucent flame on the tip, and the classic Antarctica get-up on.

In fact,The Thingis getting a lot of love in this first run ofFunko FusionPops. There is also the Spider Head available, which is easily one of the more disturbing Pops that Funko has ever made. That being said, they didn’t skimp on the design and brought a lot of detail to what is an otherwise grotesque character.
