Before release, the idea of another Marvel-focusedFortniteseason was a tad divisive, with some fans stating that they preferred original characters in the Battle Pass and original themes for the map and the game’s ongoing story. But by most accounts,Fortnite’s “Absolute Doom” season has knocked it out of the park, with some great Battle Pass skins, some well-themed POIs, and some really fun, albeit somewhat imbalanced weapons and items.
Just like the many seasons that have come before it,Fortnite’s Absolute Doom seasonhas evolved gradually over the last few weeks. With every new update, developer Epic Games has added a handful of new quests, some new NPCs, and some new weapons and items, many of which have been Marvel-themed. The latestFortniteupdate added a wealth of Iron Man-themed content to the battle royale and its spinoff modes.
Every Iron Man Element Added in Fortnite’s Latest Update
Fortnite’s New Iron Man Mythics and Weapon
By far the most exciting Iron Man-themed additions toFortnite’s Battle Royale modeare the game’s two new Mythics: Iron Man’s Combat Kit and Iron Man’s Flight Kit. Both of these powerful Mythics can be found in Stark Industry Chests strewn throughout the map. Alternatively, players can collect both Iron Man’s Combat Kit and Flight Kit at the same time by visiting one of the Mobile Stark Armories, which drop onto the map during a match. The Iron Man NPC will also have one Combat Kit for sale.
As the name implies,Iron Man’s Flight Kitallows players to take to the skies. Once in flight, players can perform a ram attack, shoot out a Unibeam, and dodge left and right. Iron Man’s Combat Kit also allows players to fire a charged Unibeam attack, and also lets them blast foes with a guided Repulsor projectile attack.
While Iron Man’s Flight and Combat Kits are both completely new additions toFortnite, the Stark Industries Energy Rifle has a much longer lineage, first appearing all the way back inFortniteChapter 2 Season 4. The Stark Industries Energy Rifle returns in all of its powerful glory this season, with players being able to find it in a few different ways. While players have a chance of finding the Stark Industries rifle in any chest, it’s most reliably found in the chests held by Stark Industries drones roaming the larger POIs.
The New Iron Man MK45 Bundle
While Iron Man has already had aFortniteskin of his own, this latest update has brought a new version of the hero to the Item Shop. Based on the character’s design from 2015’sAvengers: Age of Ultron, thenew Iron Man MK45Fortniteskinwill set players back 1,500 V-Bucks. Alternatively, players can purchase the Iron Man MK45 bundle for 2,500 V-Bucks, which includes the skin, a Back Bling, a pickaxe, a reactive wrap, and a unique bass forFortnite Festival. Unfortunately, unlike Iron Man’sFortnitedebut in Chapter 2 Season 4, this new Mark 45 bundle doesn’t come with an accompanying Tony Stark outfit, or a built-in emote that sees him transform into his superhero persona.
