Update 10/24: While My Time at Evershine isone ofthe first games confirmed to be in development for Nintendo’s new console,Bestiariowas technically confirmed to be coming to it first.
Original story follows.
It’s been confirmed that the upcomingMy Time at Evershineis in the works for the nextNintendoconsole.Nintendohas confirmed that it has a new console in development to replace the Switch, though it has yet to officially reveal the device to the world. But while Nintendo itself has yet to showcase the Switch 2, or whatever it ends up being called, leaks have potentially given fans an idea of what to expect from it.
If the leaks are accurate, the Switch 2 will have a dual-screen set-up, with users potentially able to detach the two screens, though fans should take that information with a massive grain of salt. Leaks have also suggested that theSwitch 2 will be backward compatiblewith the original Switch, which is fantastic news if true. Ultimately, Nintendo fans should keep their expectations in check until the company itself announces its next console, but there is some hope that the big reveal could happen within the next couple of months.
Since Nintendo has not announced its next console, it’s no surprise that game developers and publishers have refrained from confirming titles for the system. However, that’s now changed as Pathea Games has confirmed that its upcoming life sim gameMy Time at Evershinewill be released for “future Nintendo platforms yet to be announced,” meaning that it’s looking to release for theSwitch successor console.
My Time at Evershine Confirmed for Switch 2
Pathea is committed to launching My Time at Evershine on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and future Nintendo platforms yet to be announced.
It’s unclear exactly when that may happen. As it stands,My Time at Evershinewill be seeking funding on Kickstarterin the near future, and Nintendo hasn’t even revealed its new console. Needless to say, the wait for both products could be a long one, and so fans shouldn’t expectMy Time at Evershineto be a launch title for the Switch 2 or anything like that. But again, we don’t have enough information about the Switch 2 or its release plans to say that definitively, so fans will have to wait and see what happens.
What Do We Know About Nintendo’s Next Console?
The Switch 2 will presumably be much more powerful than the original Switch, which should help it get titles that have so far skipped the original home console/handheld hybrid in favor of releasing exclusively on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. It’s been hinted that the newBattlefieldgame may find a home on the Switch 2, and Microsoft has already committed tobringCall of Dutygames to Nintendo platforms as well. Time will tell just how much of a power boost the Switch 2 represents, but things are heating up and more concrete info on the device should come to light sooner rather than later.
