If you’re aiming to runFinal Fantasy 16on an older PC, you won’t needtop-of-the-line hardware, but the experience might not be optimal. For the CPU, you’ll need either an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or an Intel Core i5-8400, which are relatively modest requirements. For the GPU, an AMD Radeon RX 5700, Intel Arc A580, or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 will be necessary. Additionally, 16 GB of RAM is required.

With this setup, the game will only run at 720p and 30 FPS, so you shouldn’t expect sharp visuals or smooth gameplay.

AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 (8GB VRAM required)

To runFinal Fantasy 16at 1080p and 60 FPS, the hardware requirements increase significantly. For the CPU, an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X or an Intel Core i7-10700 should be sufficient. On the GPU side, an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 will be necessary. Fortunately, the RAM requirement remains at 16 GB.

The developer has not disclosed system requirements for higher resolutions, such as 1440p or 4K, but you can expect them to be even more demanding. If you’re still skeptical about the listed requirements, you can download theFinal Fantasy 16 demofor free via Steam. The demo will give you a good idea of the performance you can expect from the full game.

It’s also unclear whether the above requirements account forupscaling technologies or not. Since the minimum requirements are for 720p, it’s reasonable to hope that the higher specifications do not include upscaling.
